St. Mary's has a higher RPI and More Wins/Less Losses than we do and is considered firmly on the bubble and on the outside looking in on some peoples brackets?

I just don't know how we are a "lock" at the moment.

I agree with you, Several of the bubble teams have nice RPI's, SOS's, and quality wins....

I have trouble seeing how WSU is better than Minnesota but Minnesota is on the bubble according to ESPN.

    Minnesota [20-10 (8-9), RPI: 17, SOS: 2]

    Losses to
Ranked - Duke, Indiana, Michigan, Ohio State, MSU,
Not ranked - Northwestern, Wisconsin (by 1), Illinois, Iowa, Nebraska (by 2)

    Wins against
Ranked - Memphis, MSU, Illinois, Wisconsin, and a recent win over #1 Indiana...

I just don't see WSU as ahead of that, especially if we drop the game tonight...

Hell they have memphis ([26-4 (15-0), RPI: 19, SOS: 71]) on the bubble, a team that has only lost once in the past 21 games and is perfect in conference. I don't care about lack of quality wins...their quality wins are only slightly worse than WSU, difference is they haven't completely blown the conference schedule...

I'm just not sold that WSU is in without two wins.

    • CUSA isn't as strong as the MVC so comparing conference records aren't perfect.

      • Minnesota WAS on the bubble. Emphasis on the word "WAS". They are solidly in now.

        • I disagree. Illinois is 8-9 with a victory over Indiana and one game remaining with Ohio State.

Iowa is 8-9 with a game remaining against Nebraska. It will be very difficult for them to lose the game.

Minnehaha is 8-9 with a victory over Indiana and a game remaining against Purdon't.

I would say that if Minehaha wins they are in. If they don't they are 8-10 and you would have to make a case for all three. IMO, no way all three make it in unless they all win. If all three end up 9-9, I'm OK with 8 (or 7 or 6) teams.

I just think they need to finish .500 in the conference. I also think because the three teams are grouped together, they either have to take all 3 (provided the win) or whichever of the three has a .500 record

I also think that Indiana needs to win the Big10 for the victories to help Illinois and Iowa.

I understand their conference records aren't great but I would take their 10 losses over our 7 losses any day, and their wins destroy ours...

110% lock. All about seeding now. I think we can move up to 7 with a win tomorrow

No way. We severely hurt our chances when we lost to Tennessee, and we killed them when we lost to Evansville. We'll be lucky to get into the CBI...

I don't know how some of you guys do that. It's just damn depressing to live like that.

Truth is we've been playing for seeding for awhile. We shouldn't be any lower than a 10 seed, but probably no higher than a 8.

We were a lock yesterday albeit as an 11 seed. Now we are playing for a better spot.

                          • I sure hope we can play ourselves into a 7 seed instead of the 8/9

                            • Lunardi has us in his "Last Four Byes" section as of an hour ago:

An brief update after Indiana's thrilling 72-71 win at Michigan:1-SEEDSDuke/EASTIndiana/MIDWESTGonzaga/WESTKansas/SOUTH2-SEEDSLouisville/EAST ...

I think he's selling us 3 or 4 spots short on the S-Curve but it's not totally unreasonable. I picture us being right on the border of a 10/11 seed.
