I've seen Memphis referred to as mid-major since Houston, Cinci and UCF announced their move to the B12. That's the new narrative. If you're not P5+BE, you're mid-major.

Depends on the agenda of one deciding. We were once called a major school in a mid-major conference. The AAC has been considered one of those major conferences until apparently very recently.

There have been a lot of under-performing schools in us, UCF, Cincy and Temple which hasn't helped. Cincy and UCF are leaving so I don't care if they ever figure it out. Now we need North Texas, UAB, Charlotte and FAU to step up and find/maintain some higher level of consistency over the next few years and hopefully Tulane will continue it's upward push and us and Temple figure **** out.

The key qualifier being “have.” We’ve fallen from the lofty heights that FHCGM lifted us to and have the potential to get back up there. But the new regime has some work ahead of it.
