Why would you even enter the portal until you know who the new coach is and what kind of an NiL they can scrape up. Is it that bad in Wichita?

No downside. Can always come back. Just allows you to evaluate your options out there.

We’ll be fine. Should be an alright year next year without Houston and Cincy. You can turn around a roster through the transfer portal a lot more easily these days. Still a lot of work and gotta get a guy who can recruit, but still. Hopefully we can hang onto Pierre.

I’m probably in the top-10 percent pro IB crowd on this board.

I felt good about keeping him so we could keep the 2021 core together…. A year later everyone transferred and we were not good.

This is just part of it, and easily remedied with the right hire. But you have to get the right hire.

Same circumstances when IB was hired Was just delayed 3 yrs

Yeah at the tourney he was acting a little......off. Didn't want to read too much into it. Even leaving the hotel...etc.

Not saying he definitely would have. But I just got the feeling that something was going on with him.

We will never know for sure but I tend to agree. Without Porter on the floor this group struggled mightily for the most part. Porter was the last of the GGG players and IB had 2 recruiting classes to have in place an adequate backup/replacement for Porter.

He failed badly to put in place a replacement at point guard and had to settle for a buddies walk on son. Scott wasn’t the answer either, deer in the headlights when a trap came at him. There was no reason to believe he would be able to pull a rabbit out of no where to do an adequate job next season. His track record the last 2 seasons was that the team took to long to mesh.
