Highest NET last year to get an NIT at large was like 75-80 .. we are at 108 after yesterday.

WSU should get a CBI bid

In theory beating Tulane and Memphis and then losing to #1 on nuetral court would result in what NET?

No way. The seniors should get in all the college ball they can.

                I agree, for two reasons:

                1) We need to turn it down out of respect for the standard of our program. NCAA or begrudgingly accept an NIT bid needs to be the mindset.

                2) Before the age of NIL and the portal, you could make the case that the extra games would be good for the development of the roster. Since your whole roster might be different next season anyways, there is no value in developing players for other programs.

                • Tulane is at 102, Memphis 33 and Houston 1. We are at 108. Beating Tulane wouldn't do much. Memphis would, but it's not going to propel us 25 spots.

And the rest of the team gets extended practice and tournament experience.

                      3) Those tournaments cost a not-insignificant amount of money to host that we don't have right now.

Hard to say. Tulane is basically ranked the same as us .. Memphis is like 40s. So unless we win both of those games by 20 and then lose to Houston by 1 in OT I dont see it really affecting us much .. maybe 10 spots at most.

Yip. If the program is making strides and improving the. That experience would only be invaluable for the progression of the program.

They can pay for it out of the saving of not firing HCIB.

Much respect, but the idea that WSU can't afford to send their marquee program to a tournament is a little ridiculous.

It’s past the era, but I would have liked seeing what Gregg M. could have accomplished if the NIL would have been part of his recruiting. I think he’d have snagged some really good 4* players, and we’d be flying high right now.
