I have always loved Shocker football but as everyone knows I have been an advocate for its return only if enough money could be raised tp actually endow its return. Maybe starting small would be a way to perhaps whet the appetite of the locals and student body. If the proposed soccer/track facility could accommodate 10,000 it might be worth the investment to bring it back at a lower level to judge the interest. Go Shocks

I believe the new Cessna (or whatever it may be called) is supposed to seat around 13K. I know even at that number there have been people (myself included) that it won't be big enough to comfortably support State Track, but it would be a good starting point if we were to bring in non-scholarship football to see how it goes.

Overbuilding an entire stadium to support a single non-WSU event seems irresponsible -- unless that event wants to contribute substantially to the construction costs.

That single event brings a lot of money to the community, and with the development of Braeburn Square it's going to bring more money onto campus. It will also be a recruiting tool for T&F and soccer when it's added.

There's also the possibility that they could potentially host HS football games again.

But WSU was adamant about not wanting to lose the state track meet.
