I doubt many people on the East Coast give a flip about ksu or Colorado. Maybe 2% of the population west of Missouri would watch , but that's probably pushing it.

Deion Sanders again expresses his displeasure with late kickoffs: 'How stupid is that?'
Nick Bromberg·Senior writer

Colorado's game vs. No. 18 Kansas State on Saturday kicks off at 10:15 p.m. ET
"Deion Sanders is once again unhappy with Colorado’s late kickoff times. The Buffaloes host No. 18 Kansas State on Saturday night in a game that kicks off at 8:15 p.m. in Boulder. That’s 10:15 p.m. ET. The game is set to be televised as ESPN’s nightcap following Florida and Tennessee at 7 p.m. ET. “Who does that? Who has the power to sit up there and say, ‘Yeah I’m gonna make them play at 8:15?’” Sanders rhetorically asked on his coaches show
When Colorado radio announcer Mark Johnson informed Sanders that TV networks largely dictate start times, Sanders asked, “How stupid is that?” before expounding on his point. “But it’s not smart for television executives to say, ‘We’re going to put this game on at this time.’ Because you’re thinking about eyeballs, you’re thinking about selling merchandise on the commercials. You’re thinking about all that. Why would you put it at that time when half of America is asleep?”..."

Not just the travel expenses, but not many want to stay up that late to watch a game from the East or Central Time Zones.

"Wait a minute, didn't we just bus over to Stanford when we played them? Didn't we just bus down to LA to play UCLA and USC? Same when we played Fresno State and San Jose State?"
"These airlines are charging us a mint to fly back and forth across the country! Who made this decision?"
You can see this conversation coming big time.
Oregon State and Wash State looking smarter as time moves on.
That is all.

Perhaps NASA could also help them figure out how to win basketball games.

Cal taps NASA specialist amid concerns over ACC travel - ESPN zz0.4eu3a2ecmywzz

"CHARLOTTE, North Carolina -- Moving to the ACC has been a boost for Cal and Stanford from a number of different standpoints, providing both schools with a long-term home in a power conference after the Pac-12 fell apart in the summer of 2023. But the change also has brought worries over travel during conference play, with nearly every road trip in January, February and March involving a multiple-game swing and several days away from home....In the offseason, Golden Bears athletic director Jim Knowlton brought in a NASA specialist to give a presentation to the school's sports teams...."

I would be very annoyed if WSU suddenly played many of its games at 10 and 11pm eastern time.

For sports such as Volleyball, we could play two games both home & away yielding a sum of 12. Two teams from the West twice gives 16. Of course, then the conference tournaments at seasons' ends.
#3, This is where it gets greedy ... speaking in long term, it will be very difficult for UConn football to even tread water as an Independent. Offer them a temporary football only membership ... with two clauses:
(a) must play at least four Pac 12 schools annually in basketball.
(b) after four years, they must commit to all sports membership or the football partnership ends. That is what the MAC held with UMass who left when they declined the full deal. Of course, they are now joining the MAC foe all sports next July.

Take the tweet below with a grain of salt as this account is very pro-Memphis and called the move to the PAC a "no-brainer" before pivoting when details of the offer became public.

It must just be fan chatter as there's been no sources that indicate any dialogue has happened. And WSU would be dumb to move there as things sit right now.
There were reports that the PAC had discussions with Saint Mary's and Grand Canyon, though neither are expected to be added as the focus is on an 8th football school.

The Mountain PAC is struggling to get to 8 schools as is. They're not going to take 2 non-football schools and have to get to 10, when it already has been hard enough getting to 8.
