Fred Van Vleet a Shocker Star

Has anyone looked at the traveling call at 6:19 remaining in the first half? I wasn't paying attention and didn't replay it, but it seemed like it came out of nowhere.

I didn't rewatch it, but it didn't look like he traveled to me. It was an awkward toe twirl for no apparent reason, but not a travel. Would need to see it again to be sure.

I know it wasn't as bad a travel as the Dwayne Wade travel I mentioned here.

I just re-watched that play. The refs got it right. He traveled.

Not to take too much away from Fred, but if you watch his drives our bigs are creating lots of space for him.

It isn't 100% Fred, but he is finishing the opportunities.

As great as Fred has been let's not sleep on Cle. Looking back to the Missouri State game and the last possession in regulation to be exact the reason Fred got to the basket so easily to be fouled is because the whole Bears team keyed on Cle and followed him out of the lane. This may change going forward but I think when teams game plan against us Cle is the matchup nightmare that scares opposing coaches the most.

If Fred stays on course this year, or even continues to elevate his game as he has recently, does he make All American? And if so, first, second, honorable mention? His ppg may not be as high as others, he may not be as flashy, but I have a hard time finding a PG I'd rather have.

This to me is what makes Fred so special, he recognized who the defense was keying on and put his team in the best position to win by driving. If they are keying on him I think he gets Cle/Ron/Whoever a great shot.

Barring a collapse, he is at minimum Honorable mention right now.
