      • FVV could be the one of the best point guards in the nation for three years and still not necessarily make an NBA team. He won't leave early.

Which is just excellent news for us.

        • Short, "slow" PGs that are studs in college do not often get drafted to play in the NBA.

Especially ones that lack the ability to drive the basket and finish.

            • While Fred is everything I ever wanted in a college PG, for whatever reason (size/athleticism) the NBA is unlikely to draft such a player...especially early.

                • I could see Fred in the NBA. Just not leaving early. He is a total stud but will have to earn it the hard way.

                  • I wouldn't be surprised if some NBA teams give Fred a look. He just keeps producing results. He doesn't make many mistkes. His passing is outstanding. He can shoot it.

I don't see any NBA teams giving him the kind of look that causes players to leave early. FVV is a 4-year player. Baker might - and I mean MIGHT - get serious-enough looks as a Jr. to think about it, but I doubt he'll get anything serious enough for him to leave FVV. Those two are pretty much the same player in two different bodies with the same attitudes, BBIQ, and desire.

Those two are going to pretty much cement WSU as a national "brand". F4 last year. The undefeated streak this year. the media rating Baker and FVV as one of the top backcourt duos in the nation when they are Sophomores. Then two years of a backcourt with 2 potential AA's in it.

It's almost like having 2 4-year Burger Boys on the squad.

                    • If Shane Larkin was drafted 18th, Fred Van Vleet can/will be drafted as well.

                      • After we beat Pitt last year Jamie Dixon was doing game analysis for one the networks and gave his thoughts on the Shockers. I remember him saying that usually teams list their players a couple of inches taller that what they really are. However Wichita State was one of the rare schools where the players were actually bigger than what they thought.

Shane Larkin also has a max vert of 44". That is the 3rd highest on draft express for all years. For reference, when Vince Carter went to the combine in 1998, he measured in with a max vert of 43" and he is one of the biggest dunkers ever.

                            1) I've honestly wondered why teams don't do this. "Yeah, he is only 6' even." -- 6'6" guy shows up. WTF?!
                            2) I think our guys play bigger than they are. "How the hell did Cotton get that rebound? Dude has to be at least 7'3"!"

Agreed. Height inflation (and weight inflation) is an old school tactic that no longer has any value.

                              • Well, if FVV and Baker leave for the NBA, then we'll have to reload the program.
