The standard measurement stick in regard to A-TO ratio, in my recollection, is 2-1 is serviceable, 3-1 is excellent...5-1 is monumental great. Think about it, in today's game with the ever improving athletes and defensive reaction time, having a 5-1 ratio is beyond comprehension. My guess is we are in for 2 1/2 more years of "did he really do that" with FVV accomplishments.Comment

Last year, I thought Malcolm was great at handling the press. After reading about Il State's press I was curious how Fred and Ron would do. Frankly, I barely noticed that they were pressuring us. Not sure if their press is overrated or if Fred is that good, probably both.Comment

Let's take a stroll down 'Shocker Memory Lane' when our beloved Shocks were picked 4the Valley Preseason, but instead marched towards the Dance in March and progressed to the Final 4 in April just last Season. FVV was called upon as a Frosh to play a big role in this trek and hit the big 3 from far far away against the Zags. Likewise, Mr. Baker came back from a 21 game absence due to injuries and gave us the boost needed to win some close ones along the way.
Finally, the trek ended versus Louisville who were as lucky on close whistle calls in the last 8 minutes as they were solid on defense during this duration. After the game we all witnessed FVV and Baker (both Frosh) embraced as they walked down the tunnel towards a bright new and improved future.
This Season, not only are we 16-0, but FVV is passing out more assists on the court then lawfully legal in some States. In the meanwhile, FVV also passed another assist off the court along by way of a nice quote from his about 'Baker the Dream-Maker' in Bob Lutz's article today which said "I think he is one of the best shooters in the Country." Thus, FVV as always is a 'class act' and displays a willingness to give assists to his teammates both on and off the court rather than dwell on his own self. Now that is leadership!!! Stay tuned because these Soph. guards have only just began to take us places we long to visit.Shocker basketball will forever be my favorite team in all of sports.Comment

I've met Fred in rockford. I'm 6'0 his senior year of high school next to me he seemed to be atleast my height if not an inch taller. Tekele Cotton is listed at 6'2 and in the picture on this link they appear to be damn near the same height. The knock on VanVleet — a mild knock, to be sure — focused on his jump shot. One recruiting service called it a gray area (while improving). Others focused their praise on his leadership, his passing and almost every area except his shooting.
It seems odd now, with VanVleet averaging 12 points and making 44.7 percent of his three-pointers, fourth in the Missouri Valley Conference. The player that fans watched since last season is a guy nobody wants to leave unguarded.Comment

Whatever on Fred. He is a stud. The amazing dude is Cotton. That guy is my height. Rode with him on an elevator. Possibly a half inch taller than my 6'0''. It is simply amazing what he does at that height. The Charles Barkley of this team.Comment
