If a guy Fred's size can turn into a first-rounder (no reason to leave early otherwise; you need to get into the first round for contractual purposes) in three years, he will already have been one of WSU's best ever in that length of time. No problem with that.

As a ROckford native and a relative of Fred's, I can guarantee that you're going to love having him with your program. It pains me to say that too as I'm an Indiana State grad! He's a kid with a great head on his shoulders and does NOT get rattled during games. Wait until that first time you see him and think..."he's not that quick" but then he's blowing by people on his way to the basket. I still scratch my head at how he does it. Rest assured he will be your starter as a freshman and he will be a leader from day 1...you guys got a good one.

I have no doubt he'll start for three years, but if he can beat out Armstead for the starting role this year, I'll be extremely excited about his future.

I'm excited about Fred's future as a Shocker regardless of whether he starts or not this year.

I'd bet YOUR house and children that Malcolm has already recognized Fred and his talent.

                    Practices this year...

I mentioned before that practices this year will be much different than past.

With so many veterans the past 3 years, all roles were mostly were established and each understood their position within the system.

                    Not this year.

Other than CH & DW, it's a free for all who plays where and when.

As coaches like to tout, there are lots of minutes to be had for the right guy.

And players all know minutes on the floor during showtime is what it's all about.

Who really wouldn't like to observe about 3 hours of a GM ran practice this fall.

It could make an MMA match look like Sesame Street. :-)
Above all, make the right call.

If FVV starts this year I will be disappointed if he is not an All American during his senior year.

agreed. Toure wasn't that big of a deal at all coming in, and the finished product was quite nice. You take that amount of experience and give it to someone who may have better pedigree (no offense to Toure because he is the man and all) to begin with, and you really might have yourself an All American someday. Let's hope!

I would not be surprised to see Fred as an AA candidate as a senior, but I will wait to see him play as a freshman before I make any predictions…

I wouldn't be surprised to see FVV as an all-american candidate before he was a senior.. maybe well before.

                              Time will tell.
