    1. Gregg Marshall will never again coach WSU basketball under any circumstances. That bridge has been burned, dynamited, and nuked.
    2. I love the "your mama" reference that ended up being an innuendo on what a poster would do to another posters 97-year-old mother.
    3. Even if Boatright is gone, there is community and WSU staff feeling that Marshall's departure is a good thing.
    4. Maybe it's PC - maybe it's woke, but there are people fed up with Marshall's bullying players - that's from WSU department heads, not me.
    5. Lynn Marshall's getting escorted out of an NCAA tourney because of her drunken behavior is still remembered. Even her daughter, Maggie, said, "Give her a break, she's just drunk". I have a friend who was sitting in front of her at that game.

When the investigation started, the athletic department was screwed. There was no way to come out of it in a positive manner. I can't imagine a worse scenario than the one that resulted. On the academic side, there was a feeling that Marshall was giving WSU a bad rep. Those on that side fail to see the publicity that WSU gets from basketball.
Uh, wasn’t Lynn in the front row of the arena during that incident? How could you have a friend sitting in front of her? I call bullshit.

I didn’t realize you were so high up on the company ladder, Aargh.
    Deuces Valley.
    ... No really, deuces.

      Fever,
I was also there and can not say I heard Maggie's quote.
However, I was a couple rows right behind Lynn and can confirm she was drunk off her ass. The word I got is she likes her Hennessy.
She was acting like a complete fool including standing up in her chair screaming like a drunken nut at Roger Ayers.
Eventually security/management came over and told her to sit back down in her seat and tried to calm her down. As we all know, there is no reasoning with a drunk.

      That is all.
Above all, make the right call.

      • That day was also my first encounter with the infamous Patty.
Patty, like Lynn, was screaming like some kind of a drunken nut. I don't know if Patty was drunk or that's just her standard behavior.
I now tend to believe that was just her basic instinct and how she acts in public.

        That is all.
Above all, make the right call.

There is one poster here who I believe is actually "in the know" and while he was a Marshall supporter I have never heard him say these claims were bullshit.

A physical altercation between Marshall and one of his assistants at a booster's house was reported here well before this whole sorry episode came to light.

For Marshall to come out and say he's "never physically struck a player or colleague" or "not be demeaning or abusive" and have nobody, to my knowledge, come in and corroborate that is telling.

None of that really ****ing matters at this point because he is two seasons gone. Whether he got railroaded on completely fabricated charges, did it all and more, if you don't care as long as we won, it doesn't matter. He will never be the WSU coach again. Period. Meanwhile, we have a toad AD, an overwhelmed coach, and the foundations of college athletics are shifting underneath our feet. The solution to this according to a number of posters is "we shouldn't have fired Marshall." As if there were some time machine to take us back to 2020.

Wichita State ain't Harvard, but I learned enough logic and management to know that the solutions to our problems require addressing our actual problems not praying for a messianic return of the king.

Lynn's behavior wasn't a one-off either. I witnessed it in St. Louis. Pretty embarrassing and I have high bar for embarrassment. I don't believe it grounds for dismissal of the head coach, but those who want to pretend it didn't happen are part of this cadre burying their heads in the sand about the program.

You better stop telling the truth. If you keep this up, you might be banned by the shocknet cult members. Orange is their favor color because the chosen one is orange. Loyalty to the yellow and black of WSU is not required. Go Shocks.

              • After Lynn's antics at the tournament there was a clause added to GMs contract. Any fines that rise from GM himself or any member of his family's behavior that the school would not be responsible for payment. So I am guessing they added that for no reason.

Thank you Patty. Best of luck in Nashville…not really.

People can feel how they want about 3G, but it’s indefensible that more heads didn’t roll if everything alleged was true. Selective justice at its finest.
This. There were a lot of people complicit in the whole thing and they were able to blame it all on Marshall and one even channeled it in to a 37% raise. Unbelievable.

Oh there is no question she was drunk off her ass. No denying that embarrassing moment. I was just calling out Aargh’s bullshit where he likes to add details to things that he wasn’t there for but one of his 700 friends was. His story was garb.
