Now, I do know more about FVV. He’s a good player and a Coach on the floor as a player. I would think he will be a really good coach if he wants to. But even he should get some experience up through the coaching ranks. Assistant Coach, etc.

Need to get serious about finding a new Head Coach who will fit in and not use us as a stepping stone. I feel that recruits are turning their heads and not considering WSU until this gets resolved and they know who they will be committing to for this important decision in their lives. We can all really like Coach IB and be glad that players like him, but being liked is not always a recipe for success.

The bigger problem I see is WSU needs a new president, who will likely hire a new AD and the new AD will want to hire his own BB coach. If you believe Boatright is going to survive then I guess you don't need a new President.

Hypothetical: WSU somehow finishes #1-#3 in Conference, makes the Conference Championship Final, earns an NCAA bid, wins a game in the tourney.....does this thread die or is it like the earthquake situation in Wichita where (almost) daily tremors can be felt. ???

Im not against looking at other candidates that also check off some or all of these boxes, but he has to be at the top end of any list, provided he is interested. While I’m not optimistic, I’d approach Forbes who also checks off all of the boxes. While he is in a Top Conference, I’m not sure that Wake Forest is better than a bottom feeder job in that conference. The negative, is that he’s only been there one year, but he may have run into a few roadblocks during that one year that makes him question the job. The important question is whether Wake Forest can be a Consistent Mid ACC job? Out of 15 schools, their best years may only be a 10th place finish. They will usually be better than Boston College, Pitt, and Georgia Tech and are 4th in their own state behind NC, Duke, and NC State. WF is also a very small school in that conference with higher academic standards than most in their conference.Last edited by Shockm; December 31, 2020, 02:14 PM.

If Boatwright had refused to sign the bad contract and Marshall had left, it would have been REALLY ugly with fans. I don't care for employees who use "I'm good, give me everything I want or I'm leaving". I think that is kind of chicken ****. There's a difference between earning a raise and demanding one.
that doesn't work out too well for most folks because most of us started at some meaningless job to get us through our younger years.
On the other side of it, do you pay full price for a anything when you can get it on sale for 1/2 price? I doubt it.
