  • It seems pretty apparent that some people here don't know the difference between eye witness testimony and hearsay.

Have you even been involved in a legal matter? No doubt his lawyer is telling him what to or not to say; guilty or not guilty.

The whole "If he's not guilty, why doesn't he say anything?" doesn't apply. Neither does "why would someone lie about something like this?".

I am not saying who is innocent or not, but there is plenty of precedent for wrongful allegations and charges.

        • Who currently at WSU has big enough balls to call Marshall into his office and fire him?

It's not hearsay if the eyewitnesses talk to the investigators.

More people near the program are standing up for coach than not.

Without a consensus all we have is a story told to a story teller.

This is why we have protocols for reporting misconduct. Telling Jeff ******* 6 years later (with perhaps a sweetener involved) just doesn’t reach an acceptable standard to ruin a man.

                • Hearsay is literally as it sounds. "I heard something now I'm repeating it". Hearsay is not I saw something and now I'm reporting it.

******* bringing forth anonymous sources is Heresay. Ty Taylor or Rauno saying they witnessed it is not.

******* is irrelevant and just the medium. The problem is the statements by Shaq, Ty Taylor and now it appears Rauno stating they saw it happen. If it was solely ******* with anonymous sources, you toss it in the trash and move on.

People are standing up for coach but nobody is refuting the specific claims. If a player or coach who was at that practice where Shaq was hit or the assistant was choked comes out and says that it never happened, then we can have a real conversation about the validity of these claims. But for now there are 3 dozen players telling horror stories and a handful of players who say they had a good experience. If this was about a coach from a different school nobody here would be defending him. But because it’s Marshall we want to act like all these folks would be lying. Only denials I have heard to these specific claims have come from message boards and Facebook comments of fans blindly defending this man.

Rauno's girlfriend said that he witnessed it. That was in her tweet.

Who? A lot of people aren't saying anything right now.

Yeah, by 34 of the 36 people he talked to.

Those protocols don't mean **** when the misconduct is reported and nothing is done about it. Once that standard is set, the protocols go out the window and the need to notify HR becomes irrelevant.

Regardless, what do you think the statute of limitations should be for physically assaulting a person?

So whatever "racist" or "derogatory" comments Marshall made to him, didn't effect his opinion of him.

Again, there are protocols for reporting misconduct. It sounds like Rauno’s gf has a grudge. This was 6 years ago. In court it wouldn’t even reach a judge.

Theres no way Marshall was going to talk about any of Goodman’s story in his statement. That’s not how it works.
