    It’s a reference towards Marshall.

      For or against him?

Is he saying Marshall has aways been a hard** and Erik should have expected it?

Or is he saying Erik is right and Marshall doesn't get along with a lot of players?

Or is he saying there's always multiple reasons for things not working out and everything isn't always black and white?

absolutely. I've observed several practices. It takes some thick skin to play for him, but if you have that he will make you better.

And that is what Shaq did, he sucked it up through hard times and is better for it. He said as much.

Anyone remember who else was recruiting ES originally that lost out to Coach?

Of course he will. Proven player who can handle three positions.

You’re probably right, unless pops gives up Facebook.

Not going to take the time to see who lost what players, but not going to say that Washington and Oregon St. wouldn't sign him.

                      • GS must have pictures of Marshall with sheep. Of the 3 PG's, he was not the best or the second best. So, JB sets the Fr assist record and then is "recruited over" for a PG who is ABSOLUTELY NOT a PG, and the ABSOLUTELY NOT a PG gets a bunch of starts, which puts JB behind Dennis at SF. That's not a good strategy for player retention.

Same thing probably affected NF. It was obvious that GS had a VERY long leash and was going to be the PG of the future, despite his inability to play the position.

I thought ES would leave last year.

I suspect the players were lying to Eldridge when they told him everything was butterflies and unicorns among the players. Whoever did rooming assignments should be fired for putting Dennis and Stevenson together. Trash-talking, showboating white kid from the suburbs and a humble guy from a small town in Louisiana don't have a lot in common.

                        DG surprises me.

Morris' tweet that ES retweeted doesn't surprise me either. That team had some HUGE issues. Morris is blaming it on Marshall, but that's probably misplaced. Since Morris went public criticizing Marshall, I will share a tidbit I picked up back in the day when Morris and another player were missing practices because of "migraines" and "stomach ailments". Those were hangovers.

There was one time they got lost driving - yes, driving - home from the bar they were at and woke up their roommates at 4 AM when they finally found their way back to where they lived, after leaving the bar at 2 AM, I have that from an absolutely impeccable source who has nothing but the greatest love for the Shox and especially the players.

I was never going to tell that story because I have respect for the privacy of players off the court, but when Morris goes public taking a shot at Marshall, then some context of his opinion can be helpful. Morris and another player caused chemistry issues on that team, so Morris bagging on Marshall when Morris was one of the guys causing dissension is just wrong.

                            • Still amazed at some of your hatred for ES. He was a difference maker a lot of games.

I believe you're talking about mine. When a player who is one of the main causes of chemistry issues on his underperforming team blames Marshall in public media for the chemistry issues on that team, it's time to air the biggest cause of dissension on that team.
