      Marcus Evans 6-2, 190 lb RSr. G 12.1 PPG in 23.7 MPG
      De'Riante Jenkins 6-5, 190 lb Sr. G 10.3 PPG and 3.8 RPG in 26.3 MPG
      Mike'L Simms 6-5 Sr. G/F 7.5 PPG in 23.1 MPG
      Issac Vann 6-6, 200 lb RSr. F 7.3 PPG in 22.8 MPG

Looks like the Rams go 10 deep - here is the 2nd five:
      Nah'Shon Hyland 6-3, 165 lb Fr. G 5.2 PPG in 14.9 MPG
      KeShawn Curry 6-4, 185 lb So. G 4.8 PPG in 17.3 MPG
      Vince Williams 6-6, 210 lb So. G/F 3.8 PPG in 15.7 MPG
      Corey Douglas 6-8, 220 lb RJr. F 3.6 PPG in 12.9 MPG
Malik Crowfield 6-4, 190 lb. Sr. G 3.7 PPG in 16.8 MPG (has missed the last 2 games -- not sure what his status is).

My initial reaction is how will the Shocks match up with this lineup that is mostly a mix of big guards and small forwards across the boards. So how will the Shocks smaller guards (Grant, Tyson and Noah) do against these bigger guards. My guess is Noah may not see much action again. And how will the Shocker bigs (Jaime, Mo, Poor Bear and Asbjorn) fare against this smaller lineup. This is probably not a good match up for Asbjorn based on his history.

HCGM said Noah will likely see the court because he will need guys in there who can handle the ball. And Noah can handle the ball.

OTOH he was kind of overwhelmed by West Virginia's pressure. He did get 9 minutes against OU with no assists and 2 turnovers. IMHO Noah has yet to prove he is ready for prime time at this point. But to the extent he does play I hope he does well. This would be a great time to show that he is ready for prime time if he gets that chance.

In any case it would not surprise me to see the Shockers go small at times in this game such as a Wade, Dennis, Stevenson, Burton, Sherfield grouping.

Could Deantoni have a roll in this matchup mashup? He may not be quite ready for the VCU have either.

        This will be very interesting.

Noah is a good ball handler and can push the tempo. I would not rule him out. Size does not have as much importance as speed, control and decision making.

noah is just fine and he doen't need to redshirt. but i wouldn't expect game-changing type things from him until, like, halfway through his sophomore year. 'perfectly acceptable.

he'll get some minutes against vcu. let's see how that goes. we already know that he's tough as nails..

                1. Don't play tentative, attack the press and then the basket once it's beat
                2. Get their big guy in foul trouble and pound it inside
                3. Play to our strengths NOT theirs
                4. Our young ball handlers have to play under control
                5. Wish I felt more confident but I just don't as we are up against an athletic veteran team
                6. Hoping for an early Xmas crow dinner cause I'm putting my 10-0 record on the line - VCU 64-60

Dexter, go back and watch tape of your Indiana game from last year's NIT. I know he reads this forum. I predict his breakout game will happen against VCU.

This is going to be an interesting game. I agree with 72, their maturity is going to test our young guns. We’ve been an inconsistent team up until the last couple of games so I’m hoping that consistency is trending up. We should see all of our three ballers have decent days as VCU doesn’t defend behind the arc as well as others. Of course, that means we have to handle their press and get into our offense. They’re good at turning the ball over and we’ve given the ball away more than usual so that could be what this game comes down to.

I know none of us on either board have control over it, but this series needs to be a permanent part of both teams schedule. It's a win/win for everyone.
