That one win over Colorado should be good to offset about 10 valley losses - UNI fans probably

They just took a torpedo to the bow.

UNI gets to see how small the margin for error is. And it doesn't allow for losses at Ill St.

I think they are missing McClung tonight. Not sure how many players they have left

Yeah, I heard something about tgem being down to 7 or 8 schollie players.

Providence limped home on that one.

LOL. And their fans were so excited for their hot start too. Then they forgot that they're a Valley team. And now nothing matters til a freak weekend in March. So happy we're out of there.

                  • Iowa State (7 and 5, NET #64) lost last night at home by 2 points to the Florida A&M Rattlers (2 and 9, NET #282) out of the MEAC Conference. Florida A&M has not played a single game at home and will not do so until January 11th.

"Florida A&M became the latest massive underdog to defy the odds this NCAA men's basketball season, stunning 25.5-point favorite Iowa State 70-68 on Tuesday night in Ames, Iowa, for their first win over a Power 5 opponent in school history."

Florida A&M became the fourth 25-point underdog to win this season, stunning 25.5-point favorite Iowa State 70-68 on Tuesday night to snap a 0-106 winless streak against major-conference teams.

As we all know: Any given day, but ranked teams should bring it each and every game. Defending the home court is a must.

                        • From 11-12 to 17-18, we only lost twice to sub-100 KenPom teams in conference play while at full strength (ISUr is currently #202 in KenPom). Those losses were a 3OT loss at Drake in 11-12 and an inexplicable loss at ISUr (where we were up 15+) in 15-16. Don't miss that annihilating our at-large chances at all.

The lone loss not at full strength was 12-13 at SIU without Baker. The other reason it's not as notable is because of the atrocious call (goaltending) and no-call (charge) at the end of that game.

I heard some minor (maybe a little more than minor but not much) complaining after our victory against Abilene Christian last Sunday. The Iowa State loss to Florida A & M goes to show you that anything can happen in college basketball and our 18 point victory doesn't seem bad at all now. While our guys weren't perfect, they did what was expected and defeated a low college team who had some talent without ever being threatened. Hopefully, we take care of business again this afternoon against a team who is probably a little better than ACU.

Note those were all road games. People VASTLY underestimate how impressive that was. Individually, each game, not so impressive. Collectively? I don't think any other coach/team would've come close, with the possible exception of Few/Gonzaga.
