  • Here's what I know about CF. He is a good shooter, and he used to frustrate the heck out of me at WSU games. I'd always catch him in his seat a few rows up from the court, staring at his phone, even during the game. In my opinion, the lack of engagement he displayed during the games is as ridiculous as when they show someone at the game wearing a Chickenhawk or Puddycat garb! He simply looked like he didn't care about being there.

I was done with the thought of him in a Shocker uniform before it even was discussed.
"Ralph Miller was one of the finest coaches in the history of intercollegiate basketball. His teams were always fundamentally sound, team oriented, well conditioned, and ran both their offense and defense with great patience. I know of no coach whose teams competed against his, whether it be at Wichita State, Iowa, or Oregon State, who did not have great respect for him."—John Wooden

    • Did Tommy Amaker recruit Perry Ellis while he was playing for Heights? I mean really Ellis is capturing all kinds of basketball attention/awards while maintaing a 4.0 GPA at Heights (reminds me of Tommy Amaker's high school career in Virgina), no better University for this student athlete to attend.

Ellis is academically bright and wants to earn a degree in Business Admin (Amaker's degree); Harvard was the perfect university for Ellis - Best Business School in the World and the opportunity to "set the Ivy League rankings in their proper perspective" with Ellis providing Harvard a proper counter to Princeton's Bill Bradley achievements. Yet Ellis attends KU, a school that does not rank in the Top 100 academic universities in the United States, with a Business School that is not a pimple on Harvard's Business School's a**.

      • I mean, it does take a little more than a high school 4.0 to get into Harvard these days and they don't offer athletic scholarships in the Ivy League. Even if he were smart enough (top 1.5% in the country on standardized testing, give or take), $42,292/yr in tuition and fees plus another 15k or so for room/board is nothing to sneeze at- that's about a quarter of a million bucks in non-dischargeable debt at graduation if you're not bright enough to earn an academic scholarship there. That's more than $3,000/mo in non-deductible loan payments being taken out of your paycheck every month starting 6 months after graduation.

Or you could just go anywhere else for close to free, then go to Harvard for grad school when it actually matters (unless engineer, etc.) if you're smart enough to get in.

            • We don't need the thread to die, but we can redirect back to the topic, whatever that was.
