Shox versus Noles (Championship Game)

Might as well start discussing it. Game 2 is a nightmare. (Thnx Chris for texting me the score). Our 3 versus their 3 and with FSU at home with all the momentum.

Capra wasn't sharp again when he came in to relief and his last two strikes were borderline at best. If he pulls a Shafer tomorrow we are toast. I really think the crowd noise and the heat are finally getting to these guys and wearing them down mentally not just physically too.

Prediction - WSU loses by 6 runs. Oh well, we made another improvement this year. Made it back to the Supers and took a game. Perhaps next year, we go back to the Supers and win 2 games. I doubt it with the inexperience pitching that will be coming in but that is for another discussion.

Have I gone to the reverse pschology well too often of late, perhaps, but I think there is some more in there to get out.

We all knew FSU was not going down withouut a fight. They didn't play that well yesterday and it was a do or die situation for them today. I had a bad feeling about this game and it came to fruition. They bounced back like championship teams do and are getting it done today. I'm not taking anything away from the Shocks.

Actually, that IS taking something away from the Shocks. I agree that FSU was gonna come out fighting, but saying "it was over before it started" implies that we had no chance. Therefore, your ridiculous statement WAS taking something away from the Shocks.

Key for this game:

1. Capra has to show up. Throw 3 pitches for strikes. Work ahead.

2. Hitters have to show up. Put pressure on the FSU pitching staff every inning. Keep them out on the field some in the heat.

3. Defense can't give up gifts.

All these things the Shox did not do today.
