  • Just have to tip your cap to FSU and say congrats. The better team won.

    • I'm sure that FSU will play well in Omaha if they can get everyone to sing together.

Long ways from getting benched for the post season two years ago mid-game against CU in the MVC tourney for some brutal calls.

                • Volleyball season is coming up. Shocks were fun to watch and they beat o State twice. regional champ two years in a row.
First a Baseball fan then a Volleyball fan and then I guess I follow the basketball team.

Chew on these numbers a bit:

                    Year to date:

WSU pitching 3.25 strikeouts walks ratio

                    FSU pitching 1.94 k/walks

                    WSU batting 1.44/1 k/bb

                    FSU batting .98/1 k/bb (unreal)

                    Super Regional

                    WSU pitching 1.23

                    FSU pitching 8.5

Now, there are a lot of factors. FSU plays a tougher schedule, but not as much as many are led to believe. FSU is rediculously patient. WSU did not compete very well yesterday. We are on the road, etc etc.

However, as David said a month or 2 ago, we're not that bad and they're not that good. I think everyone, most importantly our pitchers, have it in their head they have to be perfect to get a strike....and so does blue.

I want Anthony to throw smoke right down the pipe and if they hit it, so be it. I'm sick of these obscene differences between what happens every other day of the year and then when it counts.

                    :wsu_posters: :goshocks: :posterwu: :posterwsu:

Udated WSU stats for the regional (including HBP)

WSU pitching k/bb 0.92 for a team that averages 3.45

FSU pitching k/bb 4/00 for a team that averages 1.94

Again, not the difference, but they weren't that good and we weren't that bad. However, they and blue got it in our heads before the series started that we had to be perfect to get a strike and we had to prove ourselves to get a strike. They had no such expectations.

                    That is all.

Well yes that's true. Maybe this year will be different. Quite a few teams have never won a CWS, we're just one of them as WSU was once. Well played series, we were fortunate to come out on top after going down 0-1.

I know you're upset you lost but I don't really see the need to call a kid like Buster "Jesus". I know espn is showing him a ton of love but he's a good kid and he's earned it both on and off the field. I know I'm not in friendly territory but it really surprised me today reading some of the comments here after very levelheaded discussion this weekend. I think FSU played well enough today to win but I tip my cap to WSU for a very well played and hard fought series. Could very well have ended the other way had AS had a bit better outing yesterday.

I've enjoyed speaking with everyone I met here in tally this weekend from WSU as well as the forum discussion this week. I'm sure we'll meet again in the upcoming years. Best of luck next season.

                        • Congrats to FSU. I was afraid of them from the start and they won the series. Good luck in Omaha.

Don't worry too much about it. Just do all you can do and let the rough end drag.

                            • El Cid: I take it you were at the games? I kept ESPN/2 muted because I didn't want to have to hear it, but I could see it because they kept a camera fixed on Buster Posey and his family the whole series. It was the FSU show, and after watching the games a second time on DVR and having to listen to them, it was like how dare WSU try to show and spoil their fun. I started the "Jesus" thing after the accolades were laid on a bit too thick because I was sick of hearing how is the savior of all things Baseball all week long. After Jones was booed every time he came up today, I was done with being polite.

Yes I was and I'll reiterate that everyone I've met from WSU has been great and at least to me, spoke very highly of our treatment of them. We had a few tailgate this morning with us. I simply came back to wish you guys well and read a few posters ripping Posey and calling fans "fat pigs".

I have it DVR'd and yes I saw much of that so I don't blame you guys for commenting on it and being frustrated with it but really what did you expect them to do? It's espn and he's the POY. They haven't done any homework on your ballclub, they have nothing to say because they don't care to know. I think your axe to grind is with espn, not Posey and the fanbase.

I didn't boo Jones but I heard it of course. I don't boo collegiate athletes, period. Very few FSU fans at the game are critical of Jones for the injury to Delmonico. It was more Stidham's fault than Jones's but I did think the second slide was illegal just as Holt's was yesterday. I don't agree with the "retaliation" if that's what it was. The boos you heard were from drunk students right next to the espn mic so take it with a grain of salt.
