Valley ranked #7 in warren nolan rpi

This team has given us plenty of reasons to question them (bonehead base running, lack of agression at the plate, incosistent pitching, spotty defensive early on) but they are very young and have appeared to improve as the year went on.

I think many of us have been used to spotty defense for a few years now, but this team has actually flashed the leather for most of the year, ranking in the top 35 in fielding % in the country. Maybe it's the fact that the Valley has a lot of really good defensive teams (perhaps owing to the experience of the other teams) that makes it seem a little worse than it is....Evansville is #5, Creighton #8, Illinois St #21, Indiana State #29, WSU #35..that's 5 of 8 in the top 35.

Unfortunately Cu has been playing a lot better lately, but so has WSU. So we'll see what happens.

There are only six teams left on the rpi needs assessment that have a rpi worse than WSU. So if WSU can finish 2-0 they should be in good shape.
