These nerds are also wearing calculator belt-buckles. I'll give them a pass since they fly planes and whatnot and I'm sure could whoop my ass.

    Still, what a stupid trend.

Maybe they are tricorders in case they get attacked by tribbles?

Whew, WSU escaped that inning with a clean sheet.

A lot of teams wear those play/sign sheets on wrist bands. This year is the first I have seen teams wearing those on their belt. One of the Air Force guys refused to conform and kept his in his back pocket. KP for him.

Not much at all going on offensively for the Shocks today. Even Gibson's RBI double was probably catchable. Looks like the Air Force CF may have misread that just a little bit although it was hit very well.

Shocks not hitting much but have made the 2 hits they have count.

What does it mean that Cornblum made a 6-4-3 double play? Not sure what the numbers were exactly. I know what a double play is, but what do the numbers mean?

Each defensive position is given a number.

                    1 Pitcher
                    2 Catcher
                    3 First Base
                    4 2nd Base
                    5 3rd Base
                    6 Shortstop
                    7 Left Field
                    8 Center Field
                    9 Right Field

So a 6-4-3 double play went Shortstop to 2nd base to 1st base.

Okay, sorta guessed those were positions. Had no idea what they would map to if so, so that helps me a lot!

Now I need to find that thread where WuDrWu said it went like 5 numbers on a triple play.

Couple of really nice plays by Clemons in the 6th.

Big strikeout there by Stuempfig with 1 out and a runner on 3rd. Hopefully he can wriggle out of this.

And he does. Great job by Stuempfig there to pitch around Barnhouse's leadoff double.

Another good midweek start. Barnhouse goes 6+ giving up 0 runs on 5 hits with 5 Ks and 1 BB.

Time to punch a hole in this one Shox

Nice relief pitching to wiggle out a runner at third base
