    The question from the visitor was about TV coverage, not TV revenues.

    Of course the AAC does far better in TV revenues as compared to the MVC. The sky is also blue.

      One of the benefits to being in the AAC is that if your program is relevant, every single conference game will be nationally televised. Here is Cincinnati's network breakdown for the past season:

      ESPN: 5
      ESPN2: 4
      ESPNU: 8
      CBS: 1
      CBS Sports: 8
      FS1: 1 (@ Butler)
      ESPN3: 7

      So 27/34 games on national television with the other 7 on ESPN3. TV exposure is essential for building your fan base and recruiting.
      ESPN - 1
      ESPN2 - 7
      ESPNU - 3
      ESPN3 - 17
      CBS - 1
      CBSSN - 5

        Have I misunderstood prior discussions, but aren't some of those ESPN3 coverages blacked out in MVC states?

          Believe they were only blocked out to states with Cox

              The blackout didn't affect Fox Sports out of Chicago, so I only missed 2 games by not having Cox.

                  All ESPN3 games were visible for me in AZ and friends in Cali. The last 4-5 years it seems all Shocker games are on some national media. Whoot!

                    In STL the only games blacked out were the ones on FSN.

                      IIRC, I only had to watch ESPN3 on a couple of occasions. The majority of the other games were on Direct TV 787 or somewhere in the neighboorhood.

                      I was going to make a joke about SWMO being "cox-less" but I'll just leave it alone.
