There are three rules that I live by: never get less than twelve hours sleep; never play cards with a guy who has the same first name as a city; and never get involved with a woman with a tattoo of a dagger on her body. Now you stick to that, and everything else is cream cheese.

Trump is an interesting candidate. I love that he just says what he wants and doesn't worry about it. I really don't think he will win the nomination. I do fear that he might run as a third party and help Clinton get elected like Ross Perot did.

As for jeb I don't mind him but would rather have a new face. Save the next Bush Presidncy for George P.

Are you sure that Trump is really a candidate? He doesn't act like he is really running. According to Fox reports, he actually hired the audience for his announcing his "candidacy". In my opinion, either way (if he runs as a 3rd party candidate or if he is really running as a Republican) he hurts the Republican party. He is bad publicity to the moderate independent voters.

It is not the official teaching of the church, it's just one guy's opinion.

I don't expect non-Catholics to understand, but no, not following the Pope's opinion on environmental issues is nothing like publicly disagreeing with church dogma.

You can put the popcorn away, now.
Going way off topic for a second...

I'm not a Catholic, and these are honest questions based on not understanding the Catholic Church as well as a Catholic would:

Isn't papal infallibility a component of the Catholic Church? Can the Pope have an opinion that isn't subject to that infallibility?

Is infallibility only a component of interpretation of the Bible? Thus he's enabled to have fallible opinions outside of interpreting church doctrine?

If the Pope chose to make his opinions on the environment into official teaching of the church, could he? Does that become a political issue where he has to gain support of Cardinals, or would he only need a rationalization that would make it consistent with other church dogma?

I heard that report about him paying people to fill the room. I'm sure he is not the only one pulling people off the street. I'm personally am tired of the party doing what the moderate independent wants. That's what we are doing now and it has given us weak leaders like Boehner and McConnell. And even worse policy.

So how do you propose to nominate an electable candidate? Seems like the bigger problem with the party these days is that there is not an electable candidate in the bunch. That got started when a large segment of the party started stressing purity over practicality and reality. I like neither Boehner or McConnell, but Boehner is a very good tactician. You have to respect him for that. And he's also better looking than Pelosi.

Actually, it got started when the standard election tool became destroying any person who chose to run. In the past, Republicans have done the same thing to Democrats, Right now, with a Democrat holding office, they have an advantage. Each and every Republican candidate, moderate, conservative or right wing, is destroyed upon entering the race. So you buy the hype, declare a candidacy unviable and wait for the next bloodbath.

The risk to the Democrats is this, they have all their eggs in the Hillary basket. She is doing a masterful job of staying out of the press and avoiding any real questions and answers. The fact of the matter is she has more baggage than any candidate I can remember. It all could come to roost and she is labeled unviable. If a Democrat doesn't enter and challenge her, she could be exposed and be more vulnerable than any of the Republicans. Big risk. Bernie isn't viable, so Elizabeth Warren probably should jump in sooner rather than later. Warren would tear Hillary apart.

The basketball equivalent of this coming election seems to be: Who would you rather lose to - Evansville or Illinois State?

I dunno. When Jefferson called Adams a hermaphrodite, and Adams called Jefferson a half-breed, that was pretty good theater.

Maybe some of the bank card holders who had their accounts breached should fire The Donald for being too cheap to hire sufficient cyber security help (or keeping his systems up-to-date and patched).

My God, I hope we don't elect a nut-job kook like Donald Trump or Bernie Sanders.

Probably 100% of our Elected Presidents have narcissistic tendencies. However, if elected, Trump would be the first President where 100% of the voters would agree (both conservatives and liberals if asked on an exit poll) that Trump is a total and complete 100% narcissist. I still don't think that he views himself as a serious candidate. But he thrives on publicity. LOL
