2) When all the agricultural jobs became factory jobs, I'm sure there was some concern about how people were going to get fed, and the cost of food. We now produce enough food to feed the world, with agricultural jobs continuing to diminish. This while creating the largest and wealthiest "middle class" the world has ever known. The transition from a manufacturing economy to a service based economy is a reflection of the creation of wealth and the standard of living of America's "middle-class". This is bad news for the labor movement who likes to gin up fear, but the "middle-class" should be just fine.
