The only reason lesser minds would confuse such action as an attack on liberty is because they can't differentiate between protests inside and outside of a pandemic and the "obvious" implications therein.

I don't care if you are protesting police brutality, abortions, or the spotted owl; if you are violating safeguards designed to save your very ass (and yourr neighbors), you will be handled. This is a shining example of saving someone from themselves. It is a national emergency. It's the same as pulling over when EMS vehicles are headed your way. You abide or be cited if caught.
And if they resist arrest from the depleted police force? Can the cops shoot them with a water pistol or try to talk them into coming to headquarters? Maybe they should call social services to come in and convince the unmasked protesters into turning themselves in.
Sorry, I just don't understand the boundaries or responsibilty of police in this liberal utopia?

Again, shows what a chickenshit #tedthetraitor is.

Maybe Ruiz will adopt him? Yes, let's get that arranged NOW. At least then our gov could appoint Chip Roy as his replacement. And Chip has a few functioning brain cells. Chip is not a seditionist, either, and I would bet he wouldn't run like a chickenshit to Cancun instead he would stay home and try to help his constituents, just like you would expect him to.

Hey Ruiz, do they have a chief dogcatcher as an elected position in Cali? Perhaps you could get him to run for that job. It fits him better.

Laughing my ass off at these "fiscal conservatives" who make bad decisions and piss our tax dollars away asking for a police escort to protect him from the voting public.
Totally rediculous. Cruz was able to do anything and everything on this 1 day trip as he could of held up in his house.
this story is nothing more than a media distraction from Cuomo's life costing covid decisions .
        That's it!

And who is responsible for this next wave of covid money which includes millions for an underground transit system somewhere in california? That right, it's the Dems.

        • I'm amazed at the number of people that believe anyone with the responsibilities that anyone like Cruz has could not do what needed to get done by phone with instructions to the same people that would do those instructions had he gave it to them in person. Also, that those same people would not not be able to keep him updated by phone. I'm not saying that it was not a good look, but that that is all it was. Biden has not been in Texas yet either. In fact, it's sounding like he's making some excuses to not go there as he would not want to be a distraction. Really???

                My thoughts on Cruz:

Yes, he could do the same/more work from Cancun than from his home in Texas. It’s bad leadership and worse optics.

                • Biden pledged 150 million Covid vaccinations in 100 days. This is what the numbers say.

NBC News is tracking the progress made and the time that's left to meet the administration's goal.
Only 100 million-plus total Covid-19 vaccination shots to go.

On Jan. 25, President Joe Biden upped his Covid-19 vaccination goal to 150 million shots in arms in his first 100 days in office. Then Jan. 26, shortly after this article was first published, Biden backed away from 150 million and restated his 100 million goal. In the days and weeks before entering office, he said his goal was 100 million vaccinations.

While Biden’s chief of staff had called the 100 million goal “ambitious,” the vaccination rate necessary to reach the mark is not much higher than what the rate was Jan. 20.

The Biden administration has until the end of the day April 29 to reach the target.

Use this graphic to follow whether the country is on track to reach the administration’s goal. Note that total vaccinations given — as in first and second shots, both shots counting individually — are what’s being counted. This is not the same as full vaccinations, which are first and second shots counted as one. Biden specifically mentioned shots in arms in his statements about the goal.

The graphic will be updated weekdays before 2 p.m. ET.

Uncle Joe keeping his promises and then some on eliminating the biggest roadblock to normalcy.

Credit is due for Mr. Trump as well for the great progress that was made under his administration regarding herd immunity. Reports are out that 90-120M Americans have likely now been infected. So kudos to you Infector In Chief!

All the heavy lifting was done under the Trump administration in getting this vaccine developed and plans to distribute.

No need to take my word for it - take Fauci word for it when he was asked "How much credit does the Trump administration get for Operation Warp Speed?"

FAUCI: “Oh, I think they get considerable credit. I think you have to call it the way it is. This was something that was put together, you know a combination of leadership from the Department of Health and Human Services, and the Department of Defense. Definitely, they should get credit for that.”
The thing is people try to blame Obama this, Trump that, and now Biden. That is just to divert attention from their own failings and invoke fear of the "other side".
There is so much institutional momentum going on that the ship keeps sailing in the same direction regardless of the small rudder inputs done by each administration.

The Trump administration's plan to fund every possible vaccine maker within site was very generous (with taxpayer money), but far from brilliant. What do you think the alternative was? The distribution plan was a total mess though. It was back on the states to figure things out. Biden has been funding states, FEMA, and sending the military in some instances. He is also continuing with the Defense Production Act to increase vaccine production.

Some of those positive quotes on Trump from Fauci were literally while a gun was to the side of his head. But it is reasonable for him to compliment the Trump administration on Operation ATM. I can't imagine any other president acting differently. It's the one thing that would be nearly impossible to **** up.

I generally agree with this statement. But Trump's rudder input w/ respect to Covid information/disinformation was exceptional in its effect at diminishing the cooperation of the public with their healthcare leadership. Sometimes I would ask myself, "Does he actually want more people to die???"

Trump has singlehandedly put more tinfoil hats on Americans than any other president in the modern era before him. That cannot be debated. Half of the public is certifiably deluded. But I feel it's getting better. I even sense a burgeoning lucidity in this very message board. With Trump's various digital mouthpieces firmly shackled, there is a growing calm spreading throughout our great country. Biden is doing his job. He's placating the Snowflakes, and not scaring the Conservatives into their armory bunkers. He's gonna be Bill Clinton 2021 I think. We'll see.

The Trump Experiment while failed, was very instructive. We learned as Conservatives, that we can reach the middle class just as effectively as Democrats. Next we just need to make sure that DJT 2.0 is actually sane and emotionally mature.

                        • That cold is one brainwashed individual. To think that he and his friends only need to convince a few more folks to side with the liberals, will put the US as full blown communist. Scary what is being taught these days.

                          • Has anyone heard of bidens plan to seal our borders from non essential travel do yo covid? Apparently this applies to Americans going out of the country. Don't worry though, the illegal aliens will still be able to come in without covid tests. That way they can rejoin they illegal alien family's here in the states.

The other day, I broke the law. I forgot my mask when entering a box store and my mind was totally on my task, until I had gotten what I needed off of the shelf. By the time I saw others with masks, I regretted it, but I thought, it's -2 degrees outside, and I'm not going out to get the mask now. I went through the checkout line, and didn't make eye contact with the employees. I made it through without getting arrested. Whew. What an adventure. I could have been a "convict" with orange coveralls, if Clod had his way.

By the way, I wouldn't have made a scene if an employee would have confronted me. I would have asked for a mask first if they had one for me to use. I have a feeling that I'm not the only one who occasionally forgets, and this time I didn't remember until inside the store. Crazy world we live in, but I'm sorry, masks aren't natural.
