  • I have a lot of thoughts to share (big surprise eh?), but no time right now. Hopefully I will return before all the coals have died out.

In the meantime, here's an interesting video that touches upon the current discussion a little bit.

Bill Maher: Democrats' 'woke BS' likely drove many voters to Trump, GOP

"Real Time" host Bill Maher closed his show Friday night by scolding Democrats for what he viewed as their underwhelming performance in the 2020 election -- and offered them a warning ahead of January's Senate runoffs in Georgia.

Maher began by pointing to a New York Times headline that read "Something went wrong" that summarized a Democrat post-election conference call where they "wept, cursed and traded blame."

"Wait, I thought we won this one," Maher reacted, alluding to Joe Biden's projected presidential victory. "Yes, we did ... but Democrats were supposed to flip the Senate and didn't, supposed to flip state legislatures, not a one. And they lost seats in the House.

"In a year that was so much about making people aware of racism, their share of minority votes went down!" he continued. "The message to Democrats from so much of the country seems to be, 'We don't like Trump but we still can't bring ourselves to vote for you.'

"If Cracker Jack was made of popcorn and dog s--- and half the people threw out the popcorn, popcorn should want to know why. Either liberals can either write off half the country as 'irredeemable' or they can ask what is it about a 'D' next to a candidate's name that makes it so toxic?"
Good article! Kind of shocking when Bill Maher is the voice of reason in the Democratic party. Shows you have far they've gone wacko.

I disagree with Mahr a lot. In several instances he has shown himself to not be up to date on current events. That said, he prides himself on being an independent thinker.

        • Stop First Amendment free speech by outlawing hate speech. A Biden transition official who was in Obama wants to limit speech with hate laws. Who decides what is proper hate speech with his new law?

          • UpChuck Schumer says Biden will forgive student loans in his first month in office. That actually means Biden wants plumbers, cops, and construction workers to pay the college debt of gender studies graduates.

There’s a problem with student debt just as there is/was a problem with illegal immigration. The system has spiraled out of control and now there are many “victims” that don’t have a good path forward. Some cant’t get out of debt, just like some that are good people with families can’t get citizenship. The government should help to clear a path for both sets of individuals, but FIRST, we have to stop the institutions from allowing these messes to occur. Schools need to be the guaranteer of the loans and the boarder needs to be strictly secured. Once that happens, THEN we can look for pathways to forgiveness.

              • If Colleges were run by conservatives, the problem wouldn't be the student debt, the bogeyman would be big colleges gouging students with outrageous tuition fees, sitting on billions of dollars in endowments and failing the students. Why doesn't the government do a blue ribbon panel on why college costs have increased so much over the past 20 or 30 years? Call in to congress the chancellors to some of these universities, like they do big banks and oil companies and make them explain why it costs so much.

Oh, why? Oh because the left is in on it. Colleges are no different than other corrupt government takers. In this scheme, the government makes student loans easy so young kids who are 18 years old can afford to pay 100s of thousands of dollars to fund academia, who in turn propagate the kids into good little educated leftists. Follow the money. The students have some culpability, but student loans have allowed the universities to care less about offering value or worrying about competing in the market based on cost.

The biggest problem with these student debts, is that too many students are borrowing large sums of money with the idea that they will get a college degree and then make more money but often they either drop out of school with the idea of never coming back or leave school with the idea of coming back in a short time or longer time. Either way, these students take on this large debt and can't pay it back because they never complete the degree and without the extra money that the degree would assist with, they have difficulty paying it back. As you indicated, Institutions need to have some "skin" in the game and have responsibility for unpaid payments for degrees unfulfilled.

                      • I will not be singing Kumbaya with the Demorats on anything over the next four years. Eff them. After what they did to Trump for four years and now to come out and expect the Republicans and conservatives to bow down and aquiesce to them. No thank you. I hope the Republicans do everything in their power to make the next four years a nightmare for Hiden Joe and the Demorats. Sorry, but you will get nothing different from me.

They want to talk about Trump not letting go of the election and accepting the results, yet they still to this day have not accepted that he beat Billary and her "shattering of the glass ceiling". They tried for four years to concoct a myriad of fake stories and scandals to attempt to derail the country, yet Trump accomplished more than Obuma did in 8 years, by far!

                        Bring it on!!

Mail in ballots are the problem in Georgia. Abrams had a problem in 2018 when the state purged voter registration lists for voters who hadn't voted for a while. With all of the mail in ballots that are being allowed now in states, I think that a regular (4 year-two elections or at least 6 year-three elections ) purge should happen in every state, to make sure that people who move out of state, or die are no longer on the voter roles.

This is the main problem in most of these states where ballot harvesting and fraud has taken place. In Nevada, they found many ballots that had been mailed out in the trash.

In California, there was a person who had been taking ballots from homeless people and handing them in. In another state, a worker in a nursing home was handing in ballots for the entire home.

In Georgia, mail in voting in the past had over 3+ percent of the ballots pitched and in this election .03 percent had been pitched (they had only one clerk this election checking signatures for mail in ballots).

In Michigan, the argument where two Republicans refused to sign off, certifying the votes, because when an audit was done only 70 percent of the votes matched up with the audit (books didn't show a balance of the records). Those Republicans were yelled at, called racists, and abused by their democrat colleagues because they demanded that the audit show closer to 100 percent. While many states are doing it right, enough states have had instances of ballot stuffing and harvesting that this is a problem that needs to be addressed if we want free and fair elections. While I'm not saying that if the problems that are cited are rectified, there will be a change in Trump, at this time, there are a lot of races that are close enough, and we will probably have a lot of close races in the future that these election problems need to be solved if our democracy means anything.

That's too bad. Trump brought most of the heat on himself with his mouth. He is the furthest thing from a choir boy that there is. When I hear him cry about being mistreated I nearly piss myself laughing. He's playing you man.
