    • Wouldn't it be ironic if Cuomo got impeached?

Amid the swirling controversy over whether New York Gov. Andrew Cuomo's administration knowingly undercounted deaths among nursing home residents during the height of the Covid-19 pandemic in the state, a top aide for the governor apologized to Democratic lawmakers, saying the administration "froze" when initially asked by state legislators back in August about the issue.

Andrew Cuomo – New York’s governor who was once hailed the king of the US Covid-19 response – was facing fresh calls for his removal from office on Friday after new allegations emerged that he and senior staff covered up the extent of the virus deaths in the state’s nursing homes.

The New York Post said it obtained a leaked recording of the governor’s top aide, Melissa DeRosa, admitting to Democrats in private conversations this week that the administration withheld the true data because it feared the Department of Justice would use the figures to pursue complaints of state misconduct.

Yet somehow, they pull primatine mist off the shelf and make you pay astronomical prices for the alternatives.

If someone is learning something from cold, we are in bigger trouble than I thought.

Hey cold, all your fights for everyone to wear masks could be no issue for you if you would do one simple thing. All it requires is a plastic trashbag over your head and tied snuggly around your neck. Guaranteed to keep you safe from the covid virus. 100% effective against all strains.

              • Dr. Marty Makary from Johns Hopkins Med. speculated this past week that the reasons that Carona virus cases are so much lower the past couple of weeks could very well be that the new vaccines the past 6 weeks, mixed with people immune because they had been infected, and natural immunity (which may very well be higher than previously thought) to many citizens, have been great enough to bring cases and infections down. He said that people should remain vigilant because even if he’s correct, we aren’t out of the woods yet, but he is optimistic that things may be getting better.

Yes, of course there are many that require regular blood tests and monitoring. There are many that do not.

Nope. I was told we would reach 4,000 deaths per day before spring and that total count would reach the millions.

We could head for another dip yet but millions seems extreme.

The inhaler I took for nearly 30 years was loosely tied to some deaths, but I'm sure saved many, many more.

This reminds me of something that drives me insane. When I was very young, I suffered several battles with pneumonia, spent the better part of a semester in a tent at the hospital, exacerbated by asthma. Even though I was fortunate to make a full recovery, some damage was done. I was about 10 before my doctor found medicine that really worked. I had tried dozens of inhalers, but one finally worked, almost immediately. I have no doubt it saved my life on a couple of occasions, and it certainly allowed me to enjoy life, especially sports that I loved so much.

Several years ago, when trying to get the medicine refilled, I was told it was unavailable. While I get they can't just make medicine for me, I wondered why they were discontinuing it. The reason? Climate change. The delivery method used such dangerous and toxic methods that the world just couldn't take it anymore. The stupidity eludes me. I've found no replacements and at my advanced age I doubt I ever will. It drives me insane when common sense can't be applied.

That was the worst! They banned aerosol inhalers due to the hole in the ozone. The delivery systems they use now just aren’t as effective.

Edit: there was a lot of research done in the 90s on the correlation to asthma related deaths and the use of inhalers. There was a strong correlation, but there was never any significant difference between severity and death and inhaler and death. Basically, kids that died of asthma attacks also took their inhaler prior to dying.

Matt J. asks: Was the peanut gallery expression really originally a racial term? Used to refer to those giving unsolicited (and unvalued) advice, the expression “peanut gallery” has its roots in late 19th century vaudeville, although for some, the phrase is considered a racial slur. A typical vaudevillian show of music, drama, comedy, acrobatics, dance and other acts was performed [...]

                              • Ben Domenech pushes back on Dr. Fauci's 'partisan case' for more money to reopen schools.

Fauci is now a partisan hack. Last week, schools could open up with just the mitigation measures of masks and social distancing. Now Fauci has changed his tune to mirror Biden's caving in to Big City Teachers Unions. Ben Domenech is pushing back on his new found partisanship.
