You know the funniest thing about your attitude is, you claim to be a Christian. You are one of the biggest hypocrites I have ever met. You're a stumbling block to anyone that might have looked upon you as an example of how Christ would act. You don't worship God, you worship Trump. And you give praise to him with your head stuck 3 feet up his ass.

I wasn’t arguing that they work, at lest some. I just don’t know how much. That’s why I asked you for specifics. When CB doesn’t know, he will never admit it. He just fakes it. Lol.
I’m glad our vaccine will be data driven and tested.
you brought up a younger aged person who died in an earlier post. I guess it was to scare us so we live in fear because statistics mean nothing. But I know of an older couple age 85 that had the virus but very lightly. Their 45 year old son got it when he helped them, and he was bedridden for a longer period of time. Lesson is to take precautions but don’t be fearful. Life has no guarantees. We can’t read the future.
By by the way, you’ve got me pegged. Trump is a hero and the smartest guy around. I believe everything he says.

This article just spouts as if it is a fact that the numbers of carona deaths were true.
I know that the cause of deaths (like this article was actually fact checked) by Covid has been discussed on this board in the past. But some of this has been under reported. Last night, I was listening to a reporter on late night Fox News, and the reporter was saying that from her interviews, she had coroners and doctors possibly incorrectly listing many deaths as caronavirus when they were not caused by the virus, and no testing had been done to determine whether the deceased person actually even had caronavirus. Many of these deaths had multiple illnesses already, and coroners often listed caronavirus as the cause of death even if the deceased only had symptoms of carona prior to their death, even if it was not tested, or proven.
I know that Cold will believe anything that is printed by anyone in authority but I don't trust our numbers.
I thought I read somewhere this week that we are now below the expected death rate. Meaning that there is no statistical excess in deaths than normal. So even with Covid, we aren't seeing more deaths than we normally would have if Covid didn't exist. I saw it on a blurb right before I went to bed so I didn't read the article.
Did anyone else see that?

Guessing this statistic will be hard to find in any MSM outlet, at least until November 4th.

There's a fairly sophisticated, albeit recently minted term, used to describe the phenomenon you're talking about.

This is what I've looked at on and off for months. Perhaps it's not even the right thing to be looking at, IDK.
Figures present excess deaths associated with COVID-19 at the national and state levels.
We're certainly bending that number down, and I suspect that if we in fact are on the "good side" of the pandemic, at some point we'll be below expected deaths for awhile, because a large chunk of what this virus does is kill older people a little faster than they otherwise would have expired. The numbers will tell the story (I think).

There is definitely a hard trend pointing toward normalcy. A little early to say, but how can you not cheer for this particular data point?

It was predicted that we would have a temporary retracement in September with Oct.-Dec. turning into our worst outbreak yet with the insidious, alien virus. I'm not 100% on board with the doomsday scenario, but these guys have been fairly accurate so far, and we certainly have an ample baseline of infections. It's also starting to pick up steam in Europe. They've been a harbinger for what's to come in America thus far. Let's hope everybody keeps wearing those masks and staying out of the restaurants and bars. We gotta hold on until the vaccine starts getting distributed. The minute the American public starts letting down their guard is the minute this virus will show us all what time it is.
Dr. Anthony Fauci pushed back against Republican Sen. Rand Paul's claim that New York has overcome the pandemic because it achieved herd immunity.
‘You are not listening,’ Fauci tells Sen. Rand Paul during a Senate hearing on the coronavirus
“No, you misconstrued that senator, and you’ve done that repeatedly in the past,” Fauci responded at the Senate Committee on Health, Education, Labor and Pensions hearing.
“They got hit very badly, they made some mistakes. Right now if you look at what’s going on right now, the things that are going on in New York to get their test positivity 1% or less is because they are looking at the guidelines that we have put together from the task force of the four or five things of masks, social distancing, outdoors more than indoors, avoiding crowds and washing hands,” said Fauci, director of the National Institute of Allergy and Infectious Diseases.
He also said he “challenged” Paul’s claim that New York has achieved herd immunity, saying around 22% of New York’s residents have likely been exposed to the coronavirus. Sixty to 80% of a population needs to be vaccinated or develop antibodies through natural infection to achieve herd immunity, top World Health Organization officials have said.
Earlier in the hearing, Dr. Robert Redfield, director of the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, warned that more than 90% of the U.S. population “remains susceptible” to Covid-19. The coronavirus has spread across America at varying rates since it crossed U.S. shores in January, infecting as much as 15% to 20% of the population in some states and less than 1% in others, he said.
“You are not listening to what the director of the CDC said,” Fauci told Paul. “If you believe that 22% is herd immunity, I believe you’re alone in that.”
Not totally alone. Rand has Kung by his side. :P
P.S. Rand Paul is a dangerous Covidiot to put it mildly.
