WICHITA, Kan. (KWCH) - New data from Sedgwick County shows COVID-19 cases and hospitalizations are down and for the first time since the start of the pandemic, doctors believe we could be approaching herd immunity, if it hasn’t already been reached in Kansas. Doctors believe Kansas has possibly reached herd immunity between the state’s vaccination rate and natural immunity from those who’ve recently contracted the virus. It’s a promising step in the right direction after a difficult two years. With that, however, doctors warn it may still be too early to drop all precautions.

Currently in Kansas, vaccination rates have stalled at just above 50 percent, but because so many contracted the virus in the fourth wave, doctors believe Kansas may be approaching herd immunity.

With the new data showing an improving picture for Kansas hospitals, Sedgwick County is reporting its lowest positive percentage rate since July.

This is good news. With the vaccine rate and those who have natural immunity, things are looking up.

Just offering this up so "some people" don't think the crazies are all right wing racists. I visited with a prominent member of the Wichita scene, who is fairly liberal, over the weekend. (virtually, not in person).

Their family of 5 has Covid. All but the youngest kids vaccinated. Everyone has symptoms, the adults fairly severe but not hospital like. I asked what they were doing....and I asked if they were taking monoclonal antibodies, like Regeneron.

(There were about 5 in the zoom) 3 of them starting laughing. I asked why? "Doesn't work, no Trump miracle cures, fake news". Is was as if I suggested Harry Hitler Potter wave his wand to help them.

I informed them it was the only FDA approved treatment but that it needed to be taken early and get on it.

"Should I drink bleach too?" was the response.

I might as well have been speaking another language. It's unreal the stupidly and the lies pedaled by the left, and how easily and quickly their sheep swallow it hook, line and sinker.

Because, you know, everybody.
