Good to hear. Can you share those rankings?

    EDIT:

Nevermind I found it on goShockers.com:

Shocks ranked #47 by BlueStar Basketball. That's pretty nice. Even ahead of UConn.

Only other Valley team mentioned was Illinois State who received an honorable mention.

Hopefully, we will recieve some nice dividends from this class in 2 or 3 years.

Looking forward to seeing what these Ladies will bring to the floor as Shockers.

goShockers.com said this is the 2nd nationally ranked recruiting class for Jody. I believe the first was Jessica, Jaz, Chynna and Michelle.

    • Interestingly, Jody said on her radio show tonight that she is planning on bringing 2 more players in the Spring late signing period which will use her full complement of 15 scholarships next year for the 1st time (assuming no defections).

She did not expound on whether this would be 2 more incoming freshman or whether she would be going to the Juco ranks for these players. In any case, I would think that would open up the possibility of 2 or perhaps even 3 of the incoming freshman class redshirting next year which would help with balancing out her graduating classes.

Jody seemed particularly high on Jamillah Bonner the PG transfer from Butler County and on Jaleesa Chapel who she compared to Haleigh Lankster.

      • From Suellentrop's WSU Notes in Tuesday's Eagle and as previously noted by @1972Shocker::

        Women’s class in top 50 —
Blue Star Basketball ranks WSU’s women’s basketball recruiting class No. 47 in the nation.
WSU signed six freshmen and transfer guard Jamillah Bonner from Butler Community College during the November signing period. The Shockers are the lone MVC program in the top 50.
WSU also signed guard Jaleesa Chapel of Dekaney (Texas) High, forward Moriah Dapprich of Branson, Mo., forward Briana Jones of James Madison (Texas) High, center Morgan Landers of Burleson, Texas, guard Marissa Preston of Staley (Mo.) High and guard Kayla White of East Central (Texas) High.

        • FWIW, Jody said on her radio show tonight that the two additional players they would like to sign this Spring are Juco players, which make sense.

            • Spring signing period runs from April 17, 2013 through May 15, 2013 this year. Always possible someone will give a verbal commitment prior to that. In women's basketball getting wind of those things is kind of hit and miss.

              • According to an article in last weeks Eagle, Relina signed with a D2 after recieving no D1 offers. Her mom preferred her going D2 over the juco route.

QUOTE=mumdaddy316;342404]Thanx 72,but when the season starts for city league b ball for the ladies just remember the names relina johnson 5'10 G/F from east high and cheyenne bullock 6'3 C from southeast. Those two young ladies will end up being real good players[/QUOTE]

                    • Last Monday (12/10/12) Coach Crawford filled in for Jody on her weekly radio show. Jody was in Kansas City watching Shocker recruit Marissa Preston (5-7 PG) play.

Jody did call in during the show and reported that Marissa was playing very well and had scored 19 points in the 1st half.

This Monday, I believe I understood Jody to say that Marissa finished the game with a school single game scoring record of 33 points.

In any case, her report was the Marissa would be a scoring point guard.

This is Teaiara McCowan, she is a 6'7 post out of Texas. She is class of 2015,right now there is no interest from major schools like the uconns, duke, tenn,Norte or Baylor. If we get in on her now can you imagine how good we could be with that type of size! Somebody please tell Coach Jody and staff before the young lady is swooped up.
