If they really want to do this jam the gym thing then why do they do these promotions where if you want to get the buy 1 get 1 free promotion you have to buy the tickets in advance. It just seems silly, they should let people walk up right before the game and do it at the ticket booth.

@bunck, I just spoke with the WSU ticket office and you DO NOT have to purchase the UNI tickets in advance to buy them on a Buy One, Get One Free basis. They can be purchased at the gate on that basis.
I do agree that they should eliminate any buy in advance requirements, but fortunately that does not apply to this promotion.

Picked up 6 tickets tonight as I was heading into Shocker Madness. I asked the ticket agent how sales for the VB match were going. He didn't give me a number but he did say they were going very well and that there were doing a lot of grouip sales. I would be suprised if we challenge the record but it does sound like we may well have our biggest crowd of the year on Friday.
BTW, gates open at 6:00 and the 1st 1,000 Shocker fans get a free Shocker volleyball.
And I also re-confirmed that the Buy 1, Get One Free promo would be good at the gate on Friday night as well.
Finally, a reminder to season ticket holders that you probably received an extra ticket to the UNI match in your season ticket package (at least I did with my two season tickets). Make sure that ticket doesn't go to waste either.

Really stoked for the match tonight. A bunch of the ladies were at the scrimmage last night (of course Chelsey, Emily and Jackie were slam dunk judges.....and probably responsible for the high % of misses from the guys) and seemed confident about their chances tonight. We'll see, but I am looking forward to the match.
Good Luck Shocks!

Really REALLY fired up for the match. Lots of families in town, and is there an alumni game tomorrow? I understand Hooper is back in town this weekend and I know All America Emily Stockman is returning as well.
It is a great day..........

The Alumni Association tried to revive Homecoming with a week long event in November 2010:
Cowboy up for Shockin' Y'All homecoming events Homecoming events come to life at WSU starting Nov. 6Shockers ranging far and wide are invited back to Shocker country for Shockin' Y'All, Wichita State's fall homecoming celebration slated for Saturday, Nov. 6, through Saturday, Nov. 13.
Not sure how that went. That may have been a one and done deal. I don't think having a Homecoming week so closely on the heels of Shocktoberfest is winning idea. If the Alumni Association wants to get involved it would be best if the simply joined ranks with the SAC in making Shocktobefest the best event it can be.
In place of a Homecoming King and Queen we crown a Shocker Man and a Shocker Woman of the Year as part of Shocktoberfest.
Quite frankly student support of our Volleyball program has been pretty poor and that may be putting it kindly, especially considering admisstion to WSU students is free.
Edit: I hope the students make me eat those words tonight.Last edited by 1972Shocker; October 26, 2012, 02:12 PM.
