Sami back in the lineup which is good news. She delivers an RBI single in her first at bat.

The Shock plated 3 in the first but it could have been much more. With the Shocks leding 2-0, the bases loaded and no outs Lainee grounded into a double play.

A pair doubles dents the scoreboard for Nebraska in the bottom of the 1st. Shockers 3 - Huskers 1.

I’m no expert but talking to those that are is her pitching motion can confound batters when she is on and confound coaches when she is not.

          Like literally dented the scoreboard?

In the Shocker 2nd Nebraska is a bit charitable and the Shockers prove no good deed goes unpunished.

Krystin singles to left, C-Squared walks, Barnyard goes yard to center. Taylor reaches on an error. Burbs wakls. Sami slami wons over the left field wall. 6 batter up, 6 runs scored. Ealrl Weaver is please as punch. The Shockers were not done. After Lainee struck out for the first out of the inning talented Caroline doubled down the left field line. Sophie singled up the middle with Caroline stopping at 3rd. Krystine drives in Caroline with her 2nd single to left in the inning. C-Squared flied out to left but Addison kept it going with a single to left loading the bases for Taylor. Unfortunatley, Taylor struck out. But a big 7 spot gives the Shocks a 10-1 lead. Now can Alex make that standup.

Another error by Sami (is she feeling the pressure of filling Syd's shoes?), an infield hit, and a single to left loads he bases for Nebraska to open the bogttom of the 2nd. A ground out to 2nd scores 1 run and a walk reloads the bases. Alex gets stirkeout and foul out to right to get out of the inning with only 1 unearned run scoring which was probably about as good as she could have hoped for. Shockers 10 - Huskers 2 after 2.

A lead off double by Nebraska comes around to score on a ground out to 2nd and a sac fly to left. Shockers 10 - Huskers 3 after 3.

Inning 4 pretty much a mirror image of inning 3. A lead off double by Nebraska comes around to score. Shockers 10 - Huskers 4 after 4.

The Shockers have gone down quickly in the 3rd, 4th and 5th. Nebraska gets a lead off walk and a 2-out single in the 5th but are kept off the scorevoaard for the first time in the game. Shockers 10 - Huskers 4 after 5.

Shocks get some action going in the top of the 6th. Lainee starts it off with a double to right center on a 1-2 pitch. Avery B pinch runing for Lainee moves to 3rd on a fly ball out to right by Caroline. Sophie and Krystin walked to load the bases with 1 out. C-squared singled through the right side with everyone moving up a base and Avery scoring. Addy B grounded to 3rd who took the forcd out at 3rd base with Siera Hoekstra, who was running for Sophie scoring. With two outs Taylor doubled to left driving in C-Squared and Addie B. Burbs then double in Taylor before Sami homered for the 2nd time in the game, this one to center. Avery B. grounded out to end the inning but the Shocks their 2nd 7-spit if the game to extend their lead to 17-4.

Alex sets down Nebraska in order for the first time in the game in the bottom of the 6th to close out the game. Shocker 17-- Huskers 4.

Nice bounce back by the Shockers. Alex with kind of a typical Alex outing. Constantly working with ducks on the pond but it was plenty good enough with the barage of runs her teammates provided her.

We’ve got our two wins assuming Nebraska doesn’t make a major comeback. We’re playing with house money tomorrow. The bats are hot and we have our ace on the mound fresh and rested.

Sami may have had some errors today .. but what a game at the plate. 4-5, 2 HR, 6 RBI, 2 runs

Have to feel good for Sami after her struggles against Mizzou. While she did make an error in the Nebraska game she more than made up for that at the plate going 4-5 with 2 home runs and 6 runs batted in. Sami is too good of an athlete and too good of a defensive player not to get those issues worked out. The play she made against Nebraska yesterday was next level good.

Krystin who was 2-29 on the season coming into this game was 3-3 plus a walk with 1 run scored and 1 RBI plus 5 assists and 1 put out with no errors. Hopefully, this will ignite Krystin to finish the season strong like she did last year after a terrible start.

10 Shockers got at bats in this game and only Avery B, who was 0-1, did not get a hit.

You don't win defensive POTY as a freshman without being good. She's gonna be fine. Probably just trying too hard and needs to relax a bit.

Weird how fielding and throwing can take a mysterious holiday at times. Mechanics and muscle memory usually restore themselves when overthinking is avoided.
