Why not? Beating up on a Memphis-equivalent tells you nothing. Can she help against Charlotte? Against Florida Atlantic? Against USF? North Texas and Tulsa even? Most of our remaining mid-week games are against teams much better than them. Use those non-con games to find out? Possibly. But why not use these non-con games?

I think RPI will begin appearing after this weekend. Massey has softball ratings (not RPI) on his site. There are probably others of some repute.

Warren Nolan has RPI numbers and 11-17 games in, the numbers have some significance now.

Our schedule/conference is no joke.

As of right now, we have 8 more games vs Top 20 RPI and another 11 from 21-60 and those numbers don't include ECU at 72 or North Texas at 73.

Shockers v #14/13 Missouri

Lineup: CC, Addison, Taylor, Bailey, Bailey, Sami, Lainee c, Caroline, Sophie dp, Krystin with Alison in the circle (Answers that question. Go down the line from top to bottom?) and Mila sitting. Lauren Krings is pitching for Mizzou.

After fouling off five pitches with two-strikes, CC fans to open the game. A battle. Taylor doubles with two outs but is stranded.

Alison uses her first pitch to hit a batter. :( :) With one out, a single sends the runner to third where she scores on a sac fly. The runner on first steals second, advances to third on a throwing error by Lainee, and scores on a throwing error by Addie. Ugh. Alison gives up another single before getting the last out. 2-0 Tigers after one.

Caroline walks with two outs ... and Sophie homers!!! Krystin and CC follow with singles, but Addie pops up to end the inning. 2-2 in the middle of the second.

Sami's throwing error (Is there an epidemic of those things?) and a sac bunt put a Tiger on second with one out. A double to left just advances the runner to third. The next batter loads the bases on a four-pitch walk? Intentional? At least semi-intentional? A single scores two unearned runs, and a hit batter loads the bases again. Another hit batter!! scores a run. Another single scores two more unearned runs. 7-2 and Missouri is still at the plate. Five runs so far in this inning and they all are unearned.

Alison and Alex and Lauren have to pitch these two games today. This could be ugly. Lauren is in the circle now and gets a K to end the inning. 7-2 Mizzou.

Looks like its Howell .. probably makes sense .. this game is going to be tough to come back from. Save Alex for game 2 today and see if you can get Mizzou with Chloe tomorrow
