He's doing quite well and averaging 25ppg this season.
His father, Lynbert "Cheese" Johnson, is fielding nearly all of the recruiting calls. That has become a daily chore for the former Wichita State star.
"I'm keeping him away from it so he can just focus on his academics," the elder Johnson said. "I don't want to overload him with the recruiting stuff. Without the academics, none of this even matters."Infinity Art Glass - Fantastic local artist and Shocker fan

But I still have my fingers crossed on the slim chance something amazing happens. But my hopes aren't too high.Infinity Art Glass - Fantastic local artist and Shocker fan

It appears that we will have a banner recruiting year this Season for next Season. Then let's just say we not only got Noel here, but a 2nd great recruiting year in a row. All the sudden, it would appear to me that soon thereafter, we would be a solid Sweet 16 contender.
Okay, let's say we don't get Noel. Of course why not still dream? He has not signed anywhere yet. However, even without Noel, I still believe in ample time, we will Dance again with HCGM at the helm. He can really recruit and works very hard at it. Noel is very special and I wish him the best no matter what he decides.
BostonWu has a point. Also, Dave Dahl was speaking on the radio recently how much influence AAU Coaches have these days with young players. However, with in infux of talent we have coming, and more on the way, we are moving forward sooner than later. One thing about it. I doubt Noel has this many posts on any other Board about him. The interest in him here is sky high because Cheese Johnson was a great player here at WSU. Noel could very well be better than his Dad, but that would take a huge successful College career.Shocker basketball will forever be my favorite team in all of sports.

Fayette County's Noel Johnson led the Tigers with a team-high 29 points. Johnson, a 6'7 forward is already rated one of the top 30 prospects for the Class of 2009 by Rivals.com.
This was from an article dated the 6th. Not sure how the team finished.
