            Torres Roundtree (SIU) ***
            Scott Suggs (Washington) ****
            Johnny Coy (Arizona State) ***
            Anthony Booker (SIU) ****
            John Brandenburg (Virginia) ****

Those are the only ones that have 3 or more stars in the '08 class.
Here are four more who haven't been mentioned in their top 50. Without a doubt, they have to be ranked somewhere and therefore, will be placed above Garrett. They all are, or were Shocker recruits:

            Dominique Morrison
            A. J. Hawkins
            Kramer Soderberg
            Femi John

Nothing against any of them, but if we end up with only one recruit this year from Missouri, I'm glad it's Garrett.

            • Garrett made the Missouri Basketball Coaches Association 12 man All State team and the Missouri Sportswriters & Sportscasters Association 15 man All State team. No shock there.

What's interesting is the absence of SIU's 4 star center recruit, Anthony Booker. Apparently both associations agree with my previous statement of not trading Garrett for Booker. Booker did not back up his few good summer games with a 4 star high school season. I'm beginning to doubt SIU's claim to the best recruiting class in the Valley. It looks to close to call . And of course, the Shockers are still going to add a few more.

              • I watched Booker play on FSN in the Missouri State Championships, and was more than unimpressed.

                • As I watch Mr. Love from UCLA, I keep thinking of similarities in Garrett's game. Outside shooting touch, can shoot with either hand, good on free-throws. Stutz may never be as hefty but with his work ethic I am hoping he is indeed a Shocker cornerstone player. Love has awesome timing to block and alter shots. On that attribute, I think more of EO. Did you folks see the clip they show when Love shot from just lunging from out of bounds and made the basket clear to the other basket? They said his Dad had taught him that and that he has made 3-4 of them messing around. WOW!!!

                  • I watched the game, and Kevin was outstanding, especially for a Freshman.
He was, in fact, all that he has been advertised to be. He, obviously, has had a father who has mentored and coached him for a long time.

And the fact that he is Mike Love's nephew just makes him cooler. It was all 'Good Vibrations' the other night.

                    • His dad was an All-American at Santa Clara, played sparingly in the NBA, if I remember right. Didn't have the body this kid has, though.

                      • Two impact players I think of at the Dance this year is Curry from Davidson and Love from UCLA. The teams that make it to even the Sweet 16 are so good anymore. It makes me reflect on how special our Shocker Sweet 16 Team of 2 Seasons ago really was. The sooner that happens again, the better. The blueprint is being formed as we speak and our cornerstone player, Garrett Stutz will help lead the way in due time.

I think he played at Oregon.
