  • I was in from the beginning when Paul Sullentrop dropped the news and his amazement about the young man with the great physic. Then the film clips help seal the deal. It is good to read that others are as excited about his potential as I am. I have loved several signings the past two years though others on the board have gushed over players on the more experienced side.

    • We all know that Marshall can count to thirteen and we are currently one over. Has anyone considered the idea that this could be Nurger's last year. Go overseas after this season and start making some money.
Not beyond the realms of possibilities
I'm almost sure he's not an NBA prospect
However playing overseas maybe a whole nother matter.
      Thoughts?

This crossed my mind. Or Conner could graduate.

        • trying to predict this is journey to nowhere. Many of you are tempted just as the Sailors who were called to their deaths by the Sirens of Greek lore. They couldn't control their desires and neither can you. This has happened before and usually you have predicted wrong often because there are so many possibilities that could occur in the future that would change every scenario. For example, who expected our forward to leave in August. :)

          • If Frankamp or Shaq were to graduate, they could transfer and play elsewhere immediately, just as Anton Grady did.

Actually Conner can't because to be eligible for the graduate transfer exemption you cannot have previously transferred schools.

              • Wouldn't want to lose CF or a still improving game by game RN

                  • Right now I can think of one acceptable scenario and it doesn't entail losing an incoming senior, they are too valuable.

Gregg said that an average of more than 2 players per Div. 1 program transfer per year (over 700 transfers last year) Most likely someone on the Shocker team will transfer whether we like it or not. We just don't know who and Gregg doesn't know either.

                      • This worry over something that is out of our control is depressing the excitement of this signee. He is an important part to performing against the best teams. Kentucky, Kansas, Duke, Carolina, Louisville, North Carolina are a few that regularly have great size. A few years back our rarely used 6'11 center helped in the victory in the NCAA win against KU. He cancelled out some of the size on rebounding & provided five challenging fouls while protecting the room. This has been especially important since Shaquille has yet to consistently get minutes because of foul trouble.

                        • Most of the stuff posted on here is out of our control. But we post anyway.
This is a discussion form and discussing is what we do.

                          • That is a very kind thing to say about what we do do.

The other side of what he could have said is that discussion here is an exercise of futility and a total waste of time, but I guess the same could be said about going to a movie.
