Pinewood plays Hilton Head Prep tomorrow in the quarterfinal round of the State Playoffs.

"Kenny's teamate makes McDonalds all-American"...Coach said Kenny is not a great shooter but is a great athlete and has good size....This reminds me of J.R. Giddons and Adam Liberty when they played on the same high school team in Okla......I hope Kenny works out better than Adam Liberty

Nobody ever said Liberty was the best player on his team. And AdLib would have worked out better under a different system. He was kept from doing what he could do.

Still, I hope and believe that Kenny will be a more effective player for us...The similarity just struck me.......Adam really didn't work out for us...Kenny needs to be a better finisher and slasher than AL..and I think that he will be...By all accounts, one is lead to believe that Kenny has more size and quickness

Adam actually did a pretty good job of slashing and finishing. That was actually his strength on offense. Turgeon didn't seem to want him to do that though.

KJ has a decent shot. He knows how to get inside the D and finish or find the open man. As was mentioned in the coaches show, he needs to work on his focus/decision making and improve his outside shot.

My recollection is that Adam was a poor finisher...good drives that would miss. He did not have a good outside shot...he was good at driving to the basket but again, he wasn't a great finisher...He was a good defender , athletic and strong...don't want to bag on him to much. Especially don't want to talk to much about what KJ has since I've not seen him play.....I do expect him to be quite a bit better than Adam Liberty

I expect him to be quite a bit better than any PG we've had in a while. Maybe not right off the bat, but before things are done he's going to leave his mark.

Well, what we do know about Manigault (vs. Liberty) is that Kenny is taller and that he has those long arms and exceptional jumping ability that Marshall keeps talking about.

I think Liberty would have been better under Marshall than he was under Turgeon, and I think Manigault has more physical tools than Liberty did. I like that combination.

I agree. I think Adam was around 6'1.....And Kenny seems to be more highly regarded...Marshal said on his show last nite that with his physical skills, if he WAS a great shooter we probably would not have been able to recruit him...so I'm ready to believe ......wouldn'y it be great if he turned out to be similar to one of those big, physical SIU guards...Like Darrin Brooks (name?)...who also was not a great shooter but one of the best players in the Valley

It's easy to make comparsions, especially comparisons based on physical resemblance, but Marshall has mentioned Paul Pressey in referring to Kenny.

Now, although Pressey wasn't noted as a shooter either -- if he had been, he wouldn't have been in juco and then gone to Tulsa -- he was renowned as a ball-handler and passer as well as a terror on defense, and he was a bit taller than Manigault is. Kenny, on the other hand, appears to have a significant turnover problem, at least right now. So he has some work to do to live up to the Pressey talk. But as I believe Marshall has also said, if Kenny turns out to be 75% of the player Paul Pressey was, he and the staff will be thrilled. I couldn't agree more.

All I can say is that the pieces are coming together. And I am very happy :D

I, for one, am ecstatic about the pieces laying on the table.

I am though waiting patiently for that 7' Nigerian piece to be added to the group.

Ah, yes, Downtown -- the Nigerian. That will be (as they're saying on the web about the Brazilian model who was penalized for violating Carnival's prohibition against total nudity) quite a piece indeed.
