What does the sentence above mean?

Papke was a less athlectic Z. Brown.

Both 6'6", with a double bounce (and not much more) skill set. Same confidence issues too.

Rivers appears to have legit point skill. Hopefully at the level of a J. Odum. But i'm not counting on it.

        • I just started reading this thread today.

After watching some of his game video, he immediately reminded me of Pistol Pete and Jake Odum.

As I read though post after post, I found it amazing that some many others had the observation.

Thanks for the information AR; given Austin's healing powers evidenced with his first shoulder arthroscopic procedure he should be wearing a sling through April 16/23. Then begin motion and flexibility exercise for a couple of months and begin basketball-specific exercises around May1. His shoulder should be fully healed late June to mid-July.

He should be ready for Summer play with the Shockers where he IMO will demonstrate he has skill sets similar to Landry Shamet as a Freshman but at Point Guard not the 2.

Seems pretty optimistic, but I certainly hope you are right!!!

Was this before or after he committed to WSU. Before? It was a charge. After he committee. It was definitely a block call.

                    3. More hair to have Pete Maravich look.
                    4. I would like to see him redshirt to gain weight and strength and tighten up handles.
                    5. I think I read that his 3 ball percentage is around 37%. Am I correct?
                    6. Clever around the basket.
                    7. It is astounding to me that he did not get more attention from at least lower division teams and jucos.
HC3G was way ahead of the curve on Austin, similar to his recruitment of FFV. My cousins tell me Austin exhibits the same loyalty trait as shown by FVV.

Yes he dropped 73 points on a very athletic 5A school basketball team. This was the game that prompted my cousins to email me about Austin. They saw similarities to Ron Baker's growth under WSU coaching.

My cousins also feel that Austin was ignored by coaches and such due to Malik Monk's presence at Bentonville. Now that Monk is committed to Kentucky, they believe Austin will become better known to the P5 coaches.

I am very confident with the healing program I described. You can google this procedure or ask a local orthopedic surgeon who performs these surgical procedures.

Or were you questioning my opinion that Austin has comparable skill sets to Landry?

Papke had a lot better handles than Brown. He was excellent on the break and could get to the rim. Otherwise I think he was very much like Zach.

I really wasn't questioning anything. I think everything you've said holds merit. I just tend to try to see things just a little more pessimistically, so I am pleasantly surprised rather than slightly disappointed. I had my hopes up for Landry to make it back this year, and it didn't happen. I hope that Austin is recovered and practiced enough to play on the summer trip, so we can see him against a different level of competition and with higher quality teammates.

We hold the same view regards Austin. I too want to see how he plays with Division 1 caliber team mates. ARShocker has posted that Austin is a Point Guard who had to score for his Cedar Ridge team to win. Playing with the Shockers will give Austin the opportunity to showcase his passing skills, if he in fact has them!

Got ya. Would be amazing to have a kid with Jake's PG skill set plus the athleticism and scoring punch he seems to show.

I know we're not allowed to get excited about incoming recruits but I think this kid has a bright future ahead of him.
