This could work if one of our freshmen was willing to spend year at Sunrise. Otherwise, would we say goodbye to RN for a guy that has one year on bad knees? I'm not saying that would be good or bad, just wondering.

Why would one assume that adding two players would involve saying goodbye to Nurger (as opposed, just as one example, to Wamukota), whether it's for a year of Grady or any other reason? As we've seen before, there are lots of ways to get from 14 to 13.

As for the tweet about Russo's cancellation, 1979, didn't the actual tweet refer to a "commit," not "signing" someone? That could explain the silence -- maybe the "commit" isn't signed yet, or maybe he doesn't need to sign a letter of intent (wouldn't that be true of Grady, since he's a graduate transfer?); again, various possibilities. It was ShockerHoops and kai who used the word "signed," not the tweeter. Wufan's explanation is more likely.

If we sign some kind of 4-5 star adonis center, no one is safe. You've gotta start looking in place you don't wanna look. I would also add that Nurger is an unlikely guy to dump. The likely candidates are going to be the kind of guys that are involved in the log jam at 3-4...There is one who I have heard the coach say "has a lot of work to do" but I won't name any names yet.

Signing an incredible center allows you to stop telling Nurger he can't be a weak sauce, Wragge-esque perimeter prancer/stretch 4 on this team. I wouldn't be surprised if Nurger is only struggling because he doesn't possess the mindset to play like a pit-bull forward. If you tell him he can play where he is most comfortable, he may be a 10-15 point kind of guy. If he gets to be a really tall PF/SF for us, he may surprise people. You just never know.

If a PF has been signed, it sure is taking a long time to make the announcement, unless they just haven't received the LOI from them yet. They usually get that the same day a player signs.

If a LOI were required, it would also have to be signed by a parent/guardian in most cases. That could be one possible reason there would be a delay.

One would ask that question based on how the minutes were distributed toward the end of last season. It was a question, not a statement, and was simply intended to ask if it was worth giving up one of our current players for a player who has had several knee surgeries and has only one year of eligibility remaining. Also, unless I'm misreading, I do believe I mentioned Sunrise as another option to go from 14 to 13. Sure, you could also, throw in someone "giving up" their scholarship, but that would seem rather unlikely. Someone has his "nitpickers" on today.

It is possible that he has committed but not actually executed and delivered the LOI yet. If he is signed and delivered the only reason I can think off to hold off on an announcement is because they are going to make a second signing and they want to announce them together. Although it does seem kind of difficult these days to keep an LOI signing under wraps. Time will tell I guess.
