As crazy as it my sound, I have no interest in Thon Maker. He's a walking NCAA investigation. Too many handlers in his business.
I honestly hadn't even thought about that. He does seem to have a lot of "people." I guess I kind of assumed (yes I know what assuming can do) that having handlers, etc. just came along with being a top 10 guy, specially one that has played as many places and on as many teams as he has. Hopefully the staff looks into all of that stuff, and if they think he's clean and can help us get to the promised land, I'm all for it. If not, then I like the GP kid too.

I'm also not very interested in Thon. Not only would he bring a lot of scrutiny to the program (he would bring it anywhere, but can you imagine him playing on a team many still perceive as a mid-major?) I really don't think the return on investment is very good. He's a one semester player who will probably phone it in during the 15 games he does play in. On top of that he isn't a low post player or defender. A guy like Isaac would be a home run in my opinion and I would take him over Thon.

I like Isaac, but don't think he's going to be available until 2016 (I'd love to get him signed early though). I know reclassifying is always possible, but seems kind of late for that.

Add that to him probably not enrolling until second semester next year and I don't want him either. Correct me if I'm wrong but I believe he wouldn't even be able to practice with the team until he enrolled.
Its a good landing if you can walk away, its a great landing if the plane can be reused the next day.
3G isn't the type of coach to just let him go out there and see what he can do. If he doesn't know the system, he's not playing. We've seen it too many times to think it would be any different for Maker.
Let's just say that if Grady is the guy we've signed and he's going to be a PF for us, then the likelihood we have two recruits sign is high imo. IF, and key is IF, Grady is the guy they're classifying as a PF then look for us to sign a true center as well. That "PF" thing is throwing me for a loop. I thought Grady would play the C here.

Anton Grady at PF and Issac Humphries at C?
That would be wild, but that would bring the scholarship counters out of hiding! ;)

If it's he and Shaq on the floor together, could be pretty interchangeable between the 4-5, although I think that would be pretty rare.

This could work if one of our freshmen was willing to spend year at Sunrise. Otherwise, would we say goodbye to RN for a guy that has one year on bad knees? I'm not saying that would be good or bad, just wondering.

If a PF has been signed, it sure is taking a long time to make the announcement, unless they just haven't received the LOI from them yet. They usually get that the same day a player signs.
If we sign some kind of 4-5 star adonis center, no one is safe. You've gotta start looking in place you don't wanna look. I would also add that Nurger is an unlikely guy to dump. The likely candidates are going to be the kind of guys that are involved in the log jam at 3-4...There is one who I have heard the coach say "has a lot of work to do" but I won't name any names yet.
Signing an incredible center allows you to stop telling Nurger he can't be a weak sauce, Wragge-esque perimeter prancer/stretch 4 on this team. I wouldn't be surprised if Nurger is only struggling because he doesn't possess the mindset to play like a pit-bull forward. If you tell him he can play where he is most comfortable, he may be a 10-15 point kind of guy. If he gets to be a really tall PF/SF for us, he may surprise people. You just never know.
I'd expect to hear something by tomorrow at the latest if it is as simple as getting an LOI. A transfer announcement, or something more might take a bit more time.
