Why is everyone so anxious for Ron to leave, who could be better than him, he is a clutch player, as is Fred, and they are great together. We have had past recruits in here that were hyped up, and they didn't play worth a darn. I just a lot of posters are starved for basketball season to begin, and some need to put their feet back on the ground about the new recruits.
Who's eager for Baker to leave? I can't imagine that anybody wants him to leave, but probably most of us want him -- and the Shocks -- to have such a great season the option is there for him. But Ron's a smart, level-headed guy, and you can bet that he (and the coaches) are also very well aware of all the talk and blogging about Early being in the 20s but falling to the second round.

As for Roach, we'll see what happens. He looks like he'd be a great guy to have, but if the commitments hold up WSU has positioned themselves about as well as they could possibly have hoped to do regardless.

        • I still want him to be a shocker. Is that selfish?
You miss 100% of the shots you don't take....

.....but, statistically speaking, you miss 99% of the shots you do take.

Hey, Steele -- Stay away from Oprah, big guy. We're SUPPOSED to be selfish when it comes to WSU -- it's the players who are supposed to be unselfish, and they do it very well (except when it comes to winning, in which case we're ALL supposed to be selfish).

              • Article on Roach's visit to Cal and briefly discusses his visit to WSU.

"Wichita State was pretty good," said Roach. "It was really cold so I didn't like that. Other than that, it was a good trip.

"I'd say they have more of a controlled offense, making sure they get the shots they want."

Is there any month of the year you wouldn't need a jacket in Berkeley?

                      • Cal will definitely get cold, also.

The one big difference between Cal and WSU is the wins.
WSU has a history of winning basketball, Cal not so much.

If Kerwin wants to WIN and get better as a player, WSU is the best place.
If he wants to lose, Texas or Cal would be a better match.

                        • Let's hope he's more interested in winning basketball than temperate weather conditions.

                          • If he bases his decision on weather conditions then he doesn't fit the WSU/Marshall mold anyway.

That said hopefully he doesn't and he ends up a shocker. I kind of have a feeling he goes with Texas.
"He called me around noon and was thrilled," Brandt said. "He said he was going to be a Shocker forever." -- RIP Guy, you WILL indeed be a Shocker forever!

Aren't most basketball games played indoors in a climate controlled environment? Strange that weather would be a concern for a basketball player. Football or baseball yes but basketball?
