Follow the leader or sheep???
It's why Antoine Carr is STILL my favorite ALL-Time Shocker.
- Home grown
- Could've played anywhere
- Stayed home
- All-American
- 1st Round Pick
- 8th overall
- Played 18 Seasons in NBA
Gregg Marshall's trajectory. Shocker now national brand. It's all there for a 5 Star!!!
Still in MVC conference....arrrgghhh!!!! Kills it.
Got to get in that AAC conference asapFINAL FOURS:

Wish some of those young guys believed that too.

1. The NBA draft prospect rankings are often established before players ever set foot on a college campus. I've said before and I'll say it again, but the recruiting services/star ratings are far more about projecting guys for the NBA than for college, so if you weren't a 5 star recruit coming out of high school, you have an uphill climb to get drafted, regardless of where you go to college, and if you were a 5 star recruit, you have the inside track to getting drafted, regardless of where you go to college.
2. The NBA has a bias against drafting shorter players. There have been plenty of successful short point guards in the NBA, but it makes it really hard to get drafted if you aren't tall, especially in combination with first point. Yogi Ferrell is a good example of why this isn't about school affiliation. In spite of being at Indiana, and in spite of being a highly ranked high school recruit, he isn't getting much love on draft boards mostly because of his size."Cotton scared me - I left him alone." - B4MSU (Bear Nation poster) in reference to heckling players

Having said that...I'll take Marshall's recruiting over most any day. Their just tough awesome kids who work hard, do it the right way and are 100% anti-prima-donna. Love it!!!!FINAL FOURS:
