If Bush can bulk up to at least 245-250 by the time the season starts I'll feel much better about our player rotation at the 5. Much of my questioning him possibly redshirting or not is due to his body. How thin many of the reports say he is (220-230) had me worried he might have some issues holding his own down low. I mean Baker is almost 220 and he is 9" shorter. Man I am ready for the season to start!!

Well, hook, there's more to player development than just physique. If hulkness and development were all that mattered, Orukpe would never have needed to redshirt in juco on his way here, and would have been an early-departure lottery pick once at WSU. As we know, it didn't exactly work out that way.
We'll see what happens when everyone arrives and the players and coaches are finally able to work with each other, practice, and discuss the future, which is some time off yet.

EO redshirted to save a year of eligibility, and he had to go the JuCo route because he couldn't get transcripts from Nigeria.

Having to bang around with the giants down low. I would say adding the weight would give him a better chance to defend and hold his ground against these guys. Hell you could argue Colby only really played much last year because of his size alone. Lufile and DJ were much more skilled. At least offensivelyLivin the dream

Originally posted by Cdizzle View PostAgreed. Watching some game tapes, Coleby was much more active offensively early in the year. He was probably averaging 1.5 oops/game. Then he got turf toe, and I'm not sure he ever fully recovered. Kudos to him for sticking it out, not complaining, and continuing to give valuable minutes.Kung Wu say, man who read woman like book, prefer braille!
