  • Nice hands (no fumbles) for a huge guy. Moves well. Rebound timing good at or above the rim and again showing good hands by rebounding a tough catch. 30 points and 9 rebounds. All good so far.

If you've watched his videos and can't see how effective he would be at WSU, then why post at all in the Recruiting forum?

I have watched his videos. I have never said he won't be good player. I think he will be a good player, but it won't be JUST because he is 6-8 and 260. I actually think the young man may have some skills from what I have seen.

I was being sarcastic, I took your original post to mean just because he's 6'9 260, you had no idea how that would project at the D1 level.

I very simply and very clerarly stated that you can not project how he will play at the D-1 level by watching him dominate kids that are 5 to 6 inches shorter and 80lbs or so lighter. You responded that he was 6-9, 260 and that is all you needed to know. I pointed out Paul Wight as an example of how size in and of itself and taking nothing else into account is not necessarily a guarantee of success. That's all. You may have the last word.

Allow me to have a word 1972Shocker. I got to know Paul Wight when he was a Shock. His hands were so big people called him hotdog fingers. I encouaged him often to become a Professional Wrestler and am still awaiting my comish for such a blazing idea that he followed through on. He made it to the big leagues in that sport. I wonder if he is still doing this? Anybody know? Trying to remember his handle name he went by? Big Show? Paul is a very nice guy and I am happy for him.

              • I think Paul (The Big Show) is currently WWE World Heavyweight Champion.

He has certainly made so Big Money as the Big Show in his long career.

                    • Maybe the 'Big Show' could hire Kung Wu to travel the WWE Wrestling Circuit and do some tag team matches? The villains will be shaking in their boots as you clean up some negative attitudes out there. You tell-em if they are not Shocker Fans, you both will show no mercy. Maybe a suflay followed by a patented Kung Wu swift kick where it counts, straight into a pile driver, will get their demurring attitudes cleaned up.

                      • I figured Paul was pretty big time since I would see from time to time people tweeting he played ball at Wichita State. I didn't realize he was that big, physically or successfully.

And he actually moves fairly well in the ring for someone his size. Or at least he did a number of years ago when I was watching. He seems like a pretty decent cat.

                          • The Edmond Open Basketball Tournament brackets and schedule have finally been released.

Apparently they couldn't find an eighth team, so Shaq's Edmond Memorial squad, the No. 1 seed, will play the Edmond Santa Fe JV to open. (Give the points in that one.)

Assuming the ESF JV doesn't pull a Chaminade-level upset over the state's top-ranked team, Shaq will play 6:30 p.m. Friday versus either Tulsa Central or NW Classen.

The championship game is Saturday at 8 p.m.

ZPreps will show the games live, and it does archive a few full games in the Video Highlights section, but there's no indication that they'll do that for the Open.

                            • I can see that Edmond Memorial beat Westmoore last night 66-54. Unfortunately, they evidently don't post box scores in the state of Oklahoma so we can see how Shaquille did.

According to the voices in my head, Shaq had 27 points, 13 boards and 5 blocks. He was 10-10 from the field and 7-7 from the line.
