So Watson -- who by the way has yet to sign or qualify, which means that for him step 1 is getting him signed in November as he's supposed to do -- is definitely considered one of the bigs, and from all reports has the bulk and strength to be so regarded. I suppose it's also possible that Morris could still grow and be taller than 6-8 by the time he arrives.

That 2013-14 roster, if it materializes based on the current group of anticipated returners and commitments, will contain four seniors and just two sophs, Baker and Van Vleet (assuming Green redshirts as is widely expected, and unless Wessel surprises us by also redshirting). So with no post player taller than 6-8 unless someone keeps growing, and the two obvious center candidates being a freshman (Morris) and a juco (Watson) -- White isn't realistically a regular center at his weight -- it seems likely that WSU will be looking to recruit both height and experience next year.
Has a team ever started five centers in a game?

    Just wondering.

The Service Academies do it all the time. Their players usually range in the 6' to 6'2" and can and do play all five positions. Just jerkin you around.

Although once in a while their guys keep growing, like David Robinson did. He was 6-6 when he entered Navy (wouldn't have qualified at 7-0; he'd have been too tall), and shortly thereafter he grew enough to lead them deep into the tournament. Grow, Shaq, grow!

          • He tweeted that the doctor says he will be 6'11" by the time he is done growing.

That's an educated guess. 6-8 is within the error rate, but who knows.

You might be right. There was a time, when the maximum permissible height for an academy cadet was 6'-6".

So it might be possible that five players in the 6'-4" - 6'-6" range started at a time. Based upon the Princeton offense, any one of them might have played the five at various times in the game.

                    Just hypothesizing.

Loyola of Chicago essentially started a very small lineup and played only 5 guys in defeating Cincinnati for the cahmpionship in 1963.
                      Egan (5'10"); Harkness (6'3"); Rouse (6'6"); Hunter (6'7") and Miller (6'2")

Princeton offense! Can't see Gregg mussing his hair ala Pete Carril.

I think he would be more Shaq part 2 (the original).

                              • He probably fancies himself as a Shaq protege just because of the namesake. He might be mentally more predisposed towards banging and playing tough if he wants to live up to that. I'd be surprised if a huge heavy guy named Shaq by his grandma purposely after the original Shaq comes in trying to play smooth, soft-touch offense and slow, loose and non-assertive defense. If we are really lucky, we might even get to see some awful free throws for comic relief
