Bill Self makes recruiting trips during the season all the time. He was in Wichita to watch Perry Ellis numerous times, sometimes even after a home game. It's only a 2.5 hour drive and I'm sure Wiggins is going to have a car and some free time eventually. If not Wichita, then maybe our games in KC.

Originally posted by XManCometh View PostYes, but the only person that really matters, Bill Self, doesn't want the game. So unless he's forced to by Michael O'Donnell, don't expect a game between the two any time soon. At least during the regular season.

I'd like to see this rumor mill you guys get your information from.
Also, if you don't think Marshall wouldn't have offered Wiggins' dad an assistant position if he thought he had a realistic shot at getting Andrew (which he did not) then you're fooling yourself.

Ever hear of Ed Manning, the sudden KU assistant to Larry Brown some years ago who didn't qualify under university policy because he didn't have a college degree but was somehow hired anyway? Or a few years before that, their new assistant Lafayette Norwood who was hired from Heights as a pure coincidence the year Darnell Valentine joined the Chickenhawks and suddenly was moved out after Valentine finished?
Maybe Self doesn't operate that way, but don't be surprised if he does.

Still, for those of us who have no use for the Chickenhawks, myself among them, there's some consolation: Wiggins is by all accounts an extraordinary player, but I haven't heard anyone suggesting that he's better than Kevin Durant was (nor would I expect it; after all, Durant had an exceptional all-around skill set but was several inches taller). Yet despite his great talent and his extraordinarily unselfish and coachable personality, Durant didn't lead his team to a championship in his quick tour of duty in Austin. So I'm certainly not ready to concede that KU will be the best team in Kansas next year, any more than they were last year once the Shockers got Baker back and had to play without only Wessel and, for all practical purposes, Demetric Williams.
Bring on the Kansas vs. Kentucky challenge that was proposed earlier!

Not much time spent on this board recently - if already posted or belongs elsewhere - my apologies. http://www.cbssports.com/collegebask...s-picks-kansasIf you take the high road, you won't find much traffic there . . .
