If he does pan out, we have a big Center who can play. I guess I don't trust your talent judgement. Sometimes quantity pans out.
My issue is that I seriously doubt he is leaving FSU to come sit on the bench at WSU. He is going to expect minutes and is clearly not ready for that. If he is willing to sit a year and develop maybe. But again, who on this staff can develop big men?

It's all about the numbers. Not everyone is gonna pan out and sometimes a project turns into an all league player. Unfortunately, we are not in a position to only sign guaranteed studs. Not filling the scholarships is a terrible idea. We need bodies for practice, to fill in for injured players, not to mention development.

As long as they pass the ‘fog the mirror’ test.

I hope that most of our recruits expect minutes. It’s the coach’s responsibility to manage those expectations. We need 12 or 13 scholarship players and only 9-10 at the most, will play rotational minutes.

Right now we may have four. Need 3-4 more quality guys.
We tried leaving scholarships open .. didn't work this year and cost us a few games when people went down. NEVER leave scholarships open going forward IMO.

Good news is we signed a walk-on that can push him for minutes.

Do we have any 6th year walk-ons in the post?

                    That’s an interesting take.

                    • Wichita is the choice if he actually wants to play. He will be the third option at Syracuse from what I have read.

If what he did at Fla Sr is an accurate indication of his ability, he's likely to be the third option at WSU, even though we only have one other player at his position now.

                        • Easy decision for the young man. Why say no when "yes" feels so good. Congrats on joining the hometown "Orange" Mr. Ballard!!!

                          • Like it or not .. we have a 7 footer on the roster this year. 3 years eligibility means we could have a pretty decent combo with Pohto for 3 more years if Ballard can take some steps forward.

Yea .. 7 foot P5 transfer with 3 years eligibility. We've taken flyers on worse. At worst it should be someone that Pohto can bang against in practice to get used to the length of some of the other teams.
