  • Just watched the 1st half of the Wabash vs Navarro game. Both teams played sloppy. However, Wiggins had 11 points, and I counted 2 assists and one turnover. He has a nice spin move, he again got the jump ball tip to begin the game, and he had 17 points in their first game. He leads his team with an 18 ppg average this Season. Nice ups and quite the athlete. I am watching this online and will try to get you all another report at the end of this game. His team leads at the half.

    • Final Score was Wabash 66--Navarro 55. 'Conference player of the Year' Nick Wiggins scored 24 points and had at least 3-4 assists that I counted. He had a su-weet breakaway dunk that was an A++++++++ on the radar screen. This young man can sky, score, and pass. I think he could play the 2 or 3 without any problems. He can dribble decent with both hands. He would look nice in the black, gold and grey Shocker uniforms and could make the 9 man rotation and possibly start if a Ship opens up and we can sign him. I have said all along that I hope we sign this player and now I say it with an exclaimation point!!!!!!!

        • Wabash Boxscores:

          Game 1 vs. Otero (L)

          Game 2 vs. Navarro (W)

Looks like game 2 was much better, 24 points, 12 boards, 5 assists. His first game line was 17, 4, and 1. The blemishes are 8 turnovers and 1/6 3FG.

His first 3FG attempt in game one was a poorly chosen 23-footer that missed the rim by at least 2 feet. He's no David Kyles in that regard.

I don't remember David ever missing by more than 2 feet!

Are you sure? How can a future HOFer miss the iron by 2'?

                • I watched Nick Wiggins play yesterday Gregg Marshall and others from the staff were watching as well, I am assuming they are still purusing him. In this game Nick Wiggins was in foul trouble off & on, but he is athletic, has ups, (reall nice break away dunk but was T'D up for hanging on the rim probably was questions as I have seen a lot worse not called) and made several nice drives with spin finishes. I do think if he keeps improving he could be a tough match up in the Valley. I know statistically he appears to be a decent shooter but that did not show through yesterday with poor free throws and outside shooting. Defense seemed a little questionable at times but when he put forth the effort he was and I bleieve could be a good defender at the next level. I do think he would be a good addition and maybe with the announcement Marshall is staying will be enough to bring him on board.

                  • Is he a priority or a back up plan?

I think what you're reading into it, would be highly likely.
