Did anyone catch the comment from JT in postgame about how Spinnelli "took away his left hand?" He said that Spin required everyone to finish with the right on the block. I thought that was interesting. Didn't Paul Miller finish with both hands? I know that was pre Spin.

I certainly hope he continues to develop and work on improving his defincies, as I think most would agree he has all-conference offensive potential.Kansas is Flat. The Earth is Not!!

JT will be a player. I've been saying that since last year. His D will come around. For most players, it's the one that comes around slower. Most HS guys know how to score, or shoot or whatever. Some have to learn how to play D again. It's a different animal at the college level. I have no doubt that he'll be a big contributor on both sides of the ball.Infinity Art Glass - Fantastic local artist and Shocker fan

HCGM doesn't seem like he holds back anything from his players. I get the feeling that whatever he said about JT publicly was nothing that JT had not already heard straight from the Coach in no uncertain terms.
The great thing about HCGM though is that he doesn't focus solely on the negatives with his players. I'm sure he also told JT that if you do this, this and this that the sky is the limit for your as a player.
Ok, I admit it. I have a man-crush on HCGM. :yahoo:

i think durley has more potential than any player wsu has had since the eddie fogler era other than mo evans. whether he lives up to it or not i dont know. but he can flat out play basketball and he is definitely the best freshman wsu has had since evans.

JT is a defensive work in progress, for sure, but there is a lot he does well already. He isn't very good yet at keeping his man from getting the ball. He seems to have good instincts on the defensive end. He does a good job of not biting on fakes and then timing his block attempt well enough to get some blocks and cause a lot of missed shots. He also doesn't let his man drive around him with the ball very often, although many of the guys he has guarded may not possess that skill. Bottom line, I think his defensive potential is probably as high as his offensive, he just isn't quite as far along in the development process.

More on Durley
For those who have said MT didn't leave much here in the way of talent, they may have to bite their tonges now, or change their tunes so to speak. Last year, once it became clear that Durley cudn't play during the season because of a knee injury, my optimism lessened. I thot they were a bit short on heft at the 4 & 5 positions. It is interesting to speculate on how much better the season might have been last year with Durley on board. But, I'm more into looking forward than backwards at this point. Perhaps Durley benefited from the year off to work on his body & attitude. One thing I do recall - a lot of BCS schools wanted him as a TE in football. As for basketball, I think some rating services gave him a 4.
