Jackie Carmichael is going to be more than a handful for ALL Valley teams, including ours.

It will be imperative to wear him out with depth and make him play defense.

Hi Jackie...let me introduce you to Garrett Stutz. Oh, by the way, say hi to another 7-footer named Ehimen Orukpe, who will be looking over your shoulder for the next three years.

Not really a gamesof interest for the Shox, but games I like to see happen:

Kennesaw St 80 (lost 20 games last year) - Georgia Tech 63 (won 23 last year)

There's no GoI thread for this week, but SIU is in a dog fight and has a slight lead with about 3 minutes left against Northeastern. Would be a pretty decent win for what most consider to be a bad MVC team early. Northeastern I believe I heard is expected to finish in the upper half of the CAA.

WOW. SIU loses by calling a timeout when they didn't have any. Northeaster made one of the two free throws to win 63-62

SIU outshot NE by 8% from the floor and out-rebounded them by 9. But the Salukis committed 23 turnovers.

How does the Ref say he "heard the SIU bench" call a time out with all of the noise of the scrum taking place below the basket. Additionally, why didn't he point out who called the time out?

I think SIU might have been on the receiving end of a bad call.

Bad loss for SIU in the grand opening of their newly renovated arena.

Yea i agree, it showed the SIU bench and no one was moving their lips or signaling for Time out, when the official granted it to them.

And we think we have ball handling issues....some of that play was beyond ugly.

I didn't see the replay of the bench - just saw their HC vehemently arguing the call. However, it seems the SIU fans accept the call.

That is why I thought timeouts had to be signaled visually, not verbally.

How ironic. A team that relied on officials missing calls for so many years gets bit by a phantom call now.

Agreed. My 20 year period of not sympathizing with any and every foul called against SIU is just getting started.
